I was there for 5 days by myself in the summer. Thankfully, the AC unit was very effective, even on the hottest days. Check-in was easy and I was even allowed to check-in as soon as the cleaning service was done, which was very considerate and only possible due to the host's excellent response times. The apartment was very close to a large grocery store (two floors!). The outdoor private courtyard was a wonderful bonus.
I cooked in the apartment and the pots and pans, though minimal, were certainly adequate for a short stay. The apartment is very close to the train station making day trips easy, though train connections to Mantova are only once an hour in each direction.
The only concern I would have is if you have mobility issues. The steps to the upstairs where the bedroom is are windy and somewhat steep so if you struggle with stairs (or frequent the bathroom in the middle of the night regularly), this might not be the place for you.
Unless mobility issues are a problem for you, I would highly recommend staying here, and I would definitely do so myself!

The location was excellent for people travelling by train, just a few minutes from the train station. Perfect for a short stay with trips by train to the surroundings. Although the kitchen/sitting room is very small it is very well equipped and the bedroom is very cosy. We appreciated the absolutly quiet location in the backyard! It was our first "automatic check in" and we were surprised how well it worked. Altogether a very nice experience and we would definitely return if we came to Mantova again.
