We enjoyed our stay. Spectacular views. Very comfortable with everything you need. Older character home. Not accessible if you have mobility problems. We left a print out of 'recycling' rules to add to the host binder. Recycling is big in BC, and the rules for the Cowichan District have recently changed. We didn't know there was someone living or renting the basement suite below, so that was a surprise but we never saw or heard them. Very quiet neighborhood with great parking. The yard desperately needed pruning and clean up though. Air conditioner in the upstairs loft worked really well. so grateful for that. Would book again.

We had a lovely, relaxing stay at Cowichan Bay Hideaway. It was a rainy weekend but made extra cozy with the fireplace. The space has a lot of charm and character for an older home. The ocean views are stunning. The surrounding trees were full of song birds which we could see up close with the telescope along with the many boats in the harbor. The kitchen is fully stocked and the linen closet too. If you are wanting to walk into Cowichan Bay it is about 10 min downhill into the village along quiet, residential streets. We felt safe and enjoyed the privacy of the neighborhod. We'd love to stay again!

We plan an annual sister’s getaway somewhere easy driving distance from our homes in Victoria. This year we didn’t book until very late and happened upon this property. Two of us had been to the Cowichan Bay area before but not overnight. We found the property without any issue. It was well equipped with everything we needed. It is a quaint and character filled place which was perfect for us but may not be suited to those who are looking for sleek and modern. One of us was recovering from surgery and by the end of our 2 night stay seemed to turn a corner with much more energy and optimism. This getaway in this quaint cottage was just what we needed. We might come back and stay again at some point.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home overlooking stunning Cowichan Bay. We loved the many windows and open layout of the living area which maximized the view and natural light. We walked down to the restaurants and shops a few times, not a bad walk if you don't mind a rather steep hill. There was plenty to do nearby, and we especially enjoyed the kayak estuary tour. The only slight negative I have is that I was not expecting there to be a tenant in the basement, until the owner included that fact in the checkin information. The tenant was quiet and we only saw them once out the window, but I think that information should be disclosed prior to booking. That being said, the pros of this place were so high that we would still definitely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to be able to visit Cowichan Bay again!

We stayed with a group of 5 and it was absolutely wonderful! I would suggest if you are looking for things to do drive to shawnigan lake and go for a swim! There is not much to do in the little town where to cottage is located. But lots close by via car!

The 1 star less rating was that a spilled water glass in the kitchen showed the floor to be very dirty. Perhaps my error in not noting the loft had very steep stairs. I chose to sleep on the entry level on the couch. The 3 of us loved the breakfast room, living room and outdoor deck overlooking the bay.

This was one of the best properties I've ever rented. The location was amazing, the view picturesque, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We loved using the fireplace and being situated in Cowichan Bay to explore the area and visit with family living in Duncan. The place was very clean and we hosted family for an Easter get-together very easily. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils, dishes, etc. Microwave wasn't working during our stay, but owner let us know this had just happened right before our stay and it was OK in the end. It sounds like they are going to fix/replace it right away. Appreciate the honest and clear communication with Aaron. A great host and fabulous place; would definitely recommend staying here.

House was fresh and very clean. Comfortable- nice beds with down/feather pillows, lovely gas fireplace. Well equipped - kitchen had everything except a bread knife :), lots of towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash supplied, washer and drier. All in all a perfect stay. If you go to the bakery make sure you have cash or a Canadian credit/debit card. They don’t accept foreign cards.

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful stay here. The place was bright and cheery with a warm feeling. Comfortable beds, lots of seating around the gas fireplace and a great deck to lounge on. It was also very clean. The kitchen had a nice island with bar stools and was well stocked with all the essentials. It was a short walk to the village and wharf, where we saw several large seals sunning themselves, which was pretty cool. We also had baby raccoons visit at dusk to munch on the berries growing in the yard, quite amusing! The neighbourhood is peaceful and the house is located at the end of a quiet street. I would highly recommend.

What a lovely cottage! We throughly enjoyed the deck overlooking Cowichan Bay at any time of day. It was a great place to stay while visiting friends in the area, and gather a family arrived for the next leg of our holiday in Ucleulet.

We were a group of four women, getting together for a weekend of relaxation and this was an ideal spot! The house was charming and cozy, was clean and had everything we needed (except coffee filters - just need to restock those). We loved the view from the deck and the proximity to restaurants. We will be back!
