About this house rental
Welcome! Come experience the serenity of Chemainus on Vancouver Island.
This cosy and bright space hosts 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, washer & dryer, full kitchen, dining room, living room with wood stove and tv, reading room, and a large covered patio. Enjoy sunsets and ocean views while barbecuing or lounging by the fire table.
Our small family lives in the suite below and when not travelling ourselves, we love to host and meet people.
The mini split heating system (white remote) in the living room is easy to use and is your main temperature control to keep you comfortable throughout your stay.
We are perched above the “Great Trail” and within 2km of downtown Chemainus. You can drive to Victoria in 1 hr or to Nanaimo in 30 mins.
There is comfortable parking for 3 vehicles, including a carport. Gardens and lawn provide a private, shaded space to enjoy the fresh air. Enjoy fresh herbs grown year long in the front garden!
Ocean Room - bright oceanside room with great views, ensuite with shower, queen bed and mirrored closets.
Mountain Room - this mountain side (Mt Brenton) room holds cozy twins beds with twin size mattresses that look out on large rhododendrons.
Forest Room - this mountain side room has an elegant queen bed to complement the beautiful Dogwood and Cherry blossoms that it looks out on in Spring.
Bathroom - a very spacious room with shower and tub, large mirror, hamper, toilet & sink.
The entire suite, carport, gardens, and front lawn is for your use. Carport accesses the deck and house, with a house key in the lockbox at this entrance.
For those of you who love a wood stove fire, we provide wood briquettes.
Monthly rates available upon request from November to February

I did not have a chance to meet our host, Carla, but she must have wings. We asked if we could check in early so we could go back to Saturday at Butchart Gardens. She made that happen. Then we changed our mind as it was too long of a trip. I asked if we could check in late because I did not want to disturb her, and she said "no problem".
My friend and I stayed at several places on our trip and they were all the same: shiny new appliances, and furniture but little else. Walking into Carla's place felt like home. Not as "modern" as some places, but very comfortable with a big deck that has a view of the morning sunrise, Many places to sit and read, a desk with a view, and a comfortable welcome with towels on each bed.
We like to cook some nights and most places have salt and pepper and perhaps an almost empty bottle of oil. Carla's herb and seasonings made me want to cook a big meal and invite the neighbors.
We visited during Labour Day weekend and most people went to the west side, we decided to go to the east side and loved it. More of a community feel and would have liked to spend more time at places like Transfer Beach Park near Ladysmith.

Nice clean and spacious property in quiet area. Host was friendly and available. Only tiny downside was ocean view is partially obstructed by garage but upside was huge patio/deck to relax in. Would definitely stay here again.

This was our second stay at this property. It is a comfortable, spacious, well supplied, home away from home. The hosts are attentive, the house is well maintained, and the view is lovely. Location is very convenient for activities from Victoria to Parksville.
