Great location right at the ocean

This is a quiet, simple little inn, that is warm and comfy. The location is very calm and quiet. Our room overlooked an orchard. Everything was very clean The staff were very accommodating of our late arrival time, and made arrangements so we could access our room after hours. We did not actually see any staff during our stay.
We were very disappointed that breakfast was not available during our stay. The listing for this location had a banner across the top stating that breakfast was included and the reviews about the breakfast were good, so we were very much looking forward to an included homemade breakfast, given the price. However, after we had checked in, we found a note in our room stating that breakfast is not served from November through February. I felt this should have been more clearly stated on the listing (I think it is there near the end, but pretty easy to miss!) as we may have booked a place with breakfast, if we had known it was not actually available at this location, as advertised.

This is the most peaceful, relaxing place. We stayed in the fall so the leaves were turning and it was just breathtaking. It is quiet, clean, and cozy.
The host is also absolutely wonderful. (Seriously, one of the kindest people you will ever meet!)
This place embodies what it means to be Canadian, and proudly shows off the beauty of Vancouver Island.
I honestly believe that if you don’t enjoy this place, it has something to do with you, not Kiwi Lodge.
I would a thousand percent recommend this place and stay here again in a heartbeat!

Our room overlooking the orchard was very spacious and airy with an adjoining small balcony. The bathroom was large with ample counter-top space and the towels were nice and thick. On our floor was a cozy nook for communal use with a microwave, fridge and cutlery for the preparation of a snack to enjoy there or in one's room. The grounds include a community garden and trail around the cove featuring wild fruit and wild roses. The peaceful setting of the lodge and the simple pleasing decor produced a calming, relaxing and therapeutic effect. It was a good base to visit the area and the breakfast provided was very good.
