Calm quiet and clean rural accommodation - but confirm if breakfast is actually available!

This is a quiet, simple little inn, that is warm and comfy. The location is very calm and quiet. Our room overlooked an orchard. Everything was very clean The staff were very accommodating of our late arrival time, and made arrangements so we could access our room after hours. We did not actually see any staff during our stay.

We were very disappointed that breakfast was not available during our stay. The listing for this location had a banner across the top stating that breakfast was included and the reviews about the breakfast were good, so we were very much looking forward to an included homemade breakfast, given the price. However, after we had checked in, we found a note in our room stating that breakfast is not served from November through February. I felt this should have been more clearly stated on the listing (I think it is there near the end, but pretty easy to miss!) as we may have booked a place with breakfast, if we had known it was not actually available at this location, as advertised.

I promise you will love it here!

This is the most peaceful, relaxing place. We stayed in the fall so the leaves were turning and it was just breathtaking. It is quiet, clean, and cozy. The host is also absolutely wonderful. (Seriously, one of the kindest people you will ever meet!) This place embodies what it means to be Canadian, and proudly shows off the beauty of Vancouver Island. I honestly believe that if you don’t enjoy this place, it has something to do with you, not Kiwi Lodge. I would a thousand percent recommend this place and stay here again in a heartbeat!

Relaxing and quiet stay with great accommodation

Our room overlooking the orchard was very spacious and airy with an adjoining small balcony. The bathroom was large with ample counter-top space and the towels were nice and thick. On our floor was a cozy nook for communal use with a microwave, fridge and cutlery for the preparation of a snack to enjoy there or in one's room. The grounds include a community garden and trail around the cove featuring wild fruit and wild roses. The peaceful setting of the lodge and the simple pleasing decor produced a calming, relaxing and therapeutic effect. It was a good base to visit the area and the breakfast provided was very good.

The room was spacious and we were surprised at the large balcony that overlooked the kiwi orchard, with the ocean beyond. It was so beautiful and serene. Laurie checked us in and was so friendly and responsive to any needs or questions. We stayed for 4 days and the breakfasts were very good. They always had decaf coffee and gluten free bread, provided just for me

There wasn’t anything negative to say about the property.

Lovely farm stay with spacious accommodation

Spacious and comfortable surrounded by lovely gardens and awesome kiwi plantation. Plenty of space and excellent terrace with sea view. The fruit trees at the sea edge were laden with plums 😋

Not much. I guess that particular location, with a neighbouring timber yard and other nearby industry was slightly off putting. But Kiwi Cove is an oasis

Wonderful clean accommodation in a kiwi orchard facing the lake.

The size of the room was exceptional and the view of the orchard and lake was really lovely. We enjoyed our walk on the grounds and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The prices for hotels has become an issue. They are so high it’s becoming an issue to travel. Your lodge was lovely but still a lot of money

quaint, quiet, lovely stay.

The kitchen staff in the morning were warm and attentive. Breakfast was good with adequate variety. They serve their own Kiwi jam at breakfast. The little gift shop is stocked with locally made items. It was a quiet, relaxing stay with beautiful views of the kiwi orchard and ocean beyond. An otter made his way across the orchard one morning while we were eating breakfast. There are deer, bunnies and lots of bird life. We were able to paddleboard from a nearby beach. Rooms were clean. The beds are comfortable.

The floor in our room had an odd odour. We theorized it was because they might use vinegar to clean the floors. So my suggestion would be to go over the floors again with plain water after cleaning.

The room size was sufficient, the washroom was stocked with necessities, and air conditioning was provided. Clean facilities overall. Breakfast was provided, with good, healthy options. Thank you to owner Lori and chef Peter and staff for your effort in making Kiwi Cove a pleasant place to stay! We appreciate it!

It was advertised as housekeeping but our room not housekeeper whilst in residence. Not completely clean a lot of dust. The bed very soft and a noisy shower. We felt like caretakers as we were only residents in our second night.

A great place for a relaxing get away.

The host and staff were great. We had what we needed for a comfortable stay. Also the location was very peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast provided was a bonus and was excellent. It was a great way to start the day. Also had a sample of the kiwi jam produced on site. The lodge also focused on local and environment friendly products. I would rate the stay and service as excellent and would highly recommend the lodge.

Great quiet spot for a weekend getaway

Location is beautiful overlooking a cove and the mountains. We were there in winter but still an excellent scene. The breakfast was a bit plain but serviceable. Staff was very friendly. Room was large and had an excellent balcony that would be great in summer. Overall a great stay, would be happy to return

Peaceful, relaxing, scenic locale near lots of great places to explore.

My friends and I like the location and looking out over the grove of kiwi bushes out towards the ocean. I was so excited that we saw a whole herd of Roosevelt Elk on our drive from Kiwi Cove Lodge to The Crow and Gate pub (which is a delicious and atmospheric place to eat)! The Kiwi Cove Lodge honey is also delicious. We enjoyed being so close to Chemainus and Ladysmith and yet also away from the business of town centers. Chemainus dinner and theatre was top notch!

It would have been more convenient to have had a small fridge in our room like when we last stayed. There was a fridge located down the hall which was useful but I had to keep running down the hall at 7am to get cream for my coffee.

A surprise, serene and spectacular stay!!

The serene country setting on the 10 acre waterfront is SPECTACULAR (even with the foot of snow)!! Oh, the the breakfast and service were 11/10!! WOW!!
