Lovely stay!

Cute small family run hotel. Beautiful scenery, lovely food served in the restaurant! The room was compact but had all I needed. The staff very super friendly & helpful! It’s a bit of a distance from Brunate. Really you need a car to get there. The roads are narrow and steep.

I’ve stayed at many older hotels such as this one during previous trips and during the last month of traveling through Europe. and unfortunately I was very disappointed with most everything. It needs some serious updating!!! - the room: was barely acceptable but the bathroom did not pass muster. Toilet seat was broken, hot and cold water in sink plumed backwards, hardly any room to move around and very very outdated. Bathroom had a small round makeup mirror only , toilet was opposite of sink and you had to watch to not hit your head on the sink when getting off the toilet. For the price, absolutely unacceptable. - the road: we read reviews prior to booking but although we have a lot of experience driving in all over Europe, this one was definitely a challenge and not for the faint hearted. Happy to not have traded paint with the rude locals we encountered. - breakfast: same eggs for breakfast that were out the night before. Sugar dishes were not refilled knowing they had a lot of guests that night. Little variety. -Anastasia was wonderful serving dinner, but the rest of the staff (and owner) made me feel like I was breaking into their little private club. For the price all of this was unacceptable. There was just no attention to detail given to anything. The location alone does not justify these shortcomings in my opinion!

A breathtaking view over Lake Como and a kind host! Perfect for an outdoor lunch or dinner.

The single room felt overpriced. The bathroom door didn’t close, there was no shampoo, only a washing gel and the walls were very thin, so even quiet noise from neighbors and outside was clearly heard. Breakfast was fine, but not as special as some reviews suggested.

NOT FOR THE FAINTHEARTED

Modest breakfast - cereal and breads

The owner was rather curmudgeonly to start with. He complained because I had booked a double room but hadn't indicated that I would be accompanied, and charged me another 40 Euros. Also, a few days before I had had several emails warning me that I could not arrive outside certain hours but failing to tell me what those hours were. I decided not to arrive too late and it turned out that he didn't want guests to arrive before 6. This seems a very late checkin time. The room was panelled in pine boarding which seemed a throwback to the 1970s, and the bathroom looked a little grubby. The only good things were dinner and the service in the restaurant which were both very good. Although it looks reasonably near to Como on the map, it is a half hour journey on very twisty roads in a 40 Euro taxi.

A bit difficult to reach, but more than worth the trouble!

The location was beautiful. Gorgeous view of Como and the lake. Breakfast was generous and excellent. The restaurant (I ate dinner there), was excellent as well - everything home made and delicious. Family that runs it is lovely. Room was simple, but cute. Very clean.

The walk from the funiculare is a kilometer long and quite steep-- the road is narrow. I would never have made it in my own had a couple I bumped bumped into not given me a ride. The owner is willing to pick up guests by car from the funiculare station, but one needs to call him in advance. The info on Booking.com was a bit deceptive in this respect as it made it seem that it was an easy walk. Certainly not with a suitcase!

The included breakfast was basic but suited me perfectly and gave me a great start to the day. Unlimited coffee! Great views overlooking Lake Como and a very helpful, very friendly family running the place.

Stunning location to see Lake Como from above

Owner was very friendly and helpful - they helped me look up ferry times and also took me to the funicular each day I was there as I had a lot of luggage. They also prepared breakfast earlier for me as I had to leave very early in the morning. The view from the terrace is stunning especially at sunset and you can order dinner from restaurant - food was very good.

Distance from Lake Como- didn't realise when booking it was so far away. Long walk from funicular especially with a lot of luggage. Google maps took me a different direction to the hotel as well so a bit hard to find initially. However owner helped by driving me to funicular in the mornings. Also would prefer the room to have proper curtains for privacy as they were see through and the toilet seat was broken.

The place was really nice with an amazing view inside the woods. Peaceful and beautiful.

Unfortunately, it's a bit separated from the main village, so you need to do some walking to get there ( around 15 mins ) but the staff was really kind to drive us in the village

The single room (no 7) has no direct sun light, it felt cold during the night, and the bed is too small. It is a challenge to reach the location without a car.

Amazing view - hard to reach, but worth it!

The fantastic view from the dining area and from the room was absolutely the best part. People at the hotel were all super nice and I really liked the room setup as well. We also had a dinner at the hotel and enjoyed it a lot together with the sunset+night views!

It is hard to reach this place and to get to the funicolare station, especially w/o a car and w/ a luggage. But the breathtaking view made us feel that it is worth making that effort. FYI - this is a google map issue- it might be helpful to ask them the “good” route to the hotel beforehand, as the route that first popped up in my google map was not it and too narrow/steep for our taxi driver to comfortably drive. When we checked out, they kindly instructed us on this.

Fabulous hosts and a what a view of Lake Como!

A stunning view down onto Lake Como! A lovely family run hotel that was so friendly. The food was fantastic it’s a pity we didn’t stay for longer.

The drive to the property is up above Como through some very narrow lanes but that was about the only issue.

A fabulous base from which to explore this part of Lake Como

Fabulous views of Lake Como. Fantastic kitchen. Comfortable rooms. Plenty of parking. The friendly and personal service shown to us went well beyond what is expected. We loved our stay at this traditional family-run pensione and wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you very much Roberto and family!

. I Was a solo traveller (woman) I loved everything about this venue, the family and the food. Manuela is a super Cook everything I ate was superb. Very friendly accommodation, Roberto, Nicole & Umberto, all had English, Manuela spoke with her smile and body language and most definitely through the dishes she produced every evening, I would definitely return, but with some kind of transport like a motor bike or a small car for nipping around the country roads. The cable car is about 30 minute walk up to the station, Roberto very kindly gave me a lift, 3 mornings to the station, which I gratefully appreciated. Thank you for your hospitality 😊 Great area for Hikers and Biker's exploring the countryside,

My biggest flaw here was from the cable car to the accommodation, with luggage and heat, I struggled! It was quite a walk down hill to the Hotel and it was very Hot, I was tired, it took me 40 minutes with a suitcase and rucksack. Any other day I walked down from the cable car, it took me 20 minutes downhill without any luggage. So if you have a car or motorbike you will have a blast!
