MOUNT BARKER

Gillian and Paschal were so welcoming and happy to chat with us. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed some rest and short drives to the beaches.

Breakfast was self service very nice and we enjoyed it.

Overall there wasn't anything.,we weren't happy with and we would highly recommend a stay there.

We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the facility due to our busy schedule, but everything at Mount Barker was as shown in photographs. Gillian was there with a friendly greeting when we arrived in the evening. This facility is well thought out and organized (lockbox for the keys, side entrance, box for shoes [no shoes on the carpets], refrigerator in the common kitchen for each room). Breakfast is done differently from any other B&B in which we stayed. The items for breakfast are provided, and you make your own in the common kitchen. All utensils, cookware, bowls, plates, etc. you need are in the kitchen. There is a very nice sitting area with tables for eating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent for access to Dublin Airport. To visit Dublin, we took a commuter train from Malahide (which is about 15 minutes from Mount Barker) into Dublin to avoid Dublin traffic and parking - worked very nicely.

A cooked breakfast and laid out breakfast spread such we encountered as at other B&Bs would have been nice, but the system used at Mount Barker worked well.

A clever b&b concept with central kitchen and dining area. Apparently six bedrooms, and ours, number four was twin bed as requested. Spotlessly clean throughout, and exceptionally well equipped. Gillian and Paschal are attentive and obliging hosts. Can’t ask for more!

Ideally, placed for commuting into Dublin city, one minute from the M1, the only slight drawback being an exit onto a road which is busy ar times and driven too fast.
