Leevin Stay Hostel

It was clean, spacious and very welcoming.could leave my bag there before checkin. Kitchen and eating area was perfect for what I needed. Bed was really comfy. Blackout curtains, light and plug socket in your bed was spot on.

I was expecting to find more people travelling, but found most people i spoke to were there for work or study. Not a downside as such, but was hoping to mix with others doing the same as me.

Privacy curtains is excellent and the property is very well designed. Lots of kitchen and leisure space.

The bottom bunk with the wooden design feels like you're in a coffin. The shower area could use a deep clean.

Being far from the airport

The location is good for getting in to the central city either on foot or by bus. The airport bus stops close by (either the 700 Dublin Express which is €10) or the local bus (e.g no.16 which costs €2). It’s handy that you can leave your bags at the hostel safely when you arrive or if you’ve checked out and don’t want to carry your bags around. Good WiFi in the rooms.

The room was incredibly hot (we visited in heatwave week!) with no fans or air conditioning to help with the heat. The curtains across the beds were either too short or difficult to close/metal bar coming out of the hooks and because there wasn’t a curtain on the main window it meant the sun streaming in at 5am and no way to block it out. Also have to get changed with no curtain in a room with houses/Main Street opposite. The bottom bunk light was broken so couldn’t use it at night. The showers weren’t the cleanest (hair/used plasters on the floor). The staff we spoke to were also not the friendliest, everything seemed like an effort to them e.g sat on their phones whilst we waited to speak to them or when walking with us to collect our bags from the luggage room. We even said goodbye and thank you as we left and not one of the three staff at the front desk looked up 😂
