A perfect get away for a very relaxing weekend.

The property was very well equipped, clean and plenty of space to enjoy just spending time relaxing there. a lovely selection for breakfast and some great treats too. The homemade biscuits were delicious! We felt truly spoiled. A lovely pub serving delicious food just a short walk away. A local shop too.

Lovely place near Cambridge

These renovated old stables were such a lovely and picturesque place to spend the night. We had a wonderful time there. You can’t imagine how generously we were provided with everything we could possibly want to eat and drink : fruit, delicious homemade cakes, drinks, and breakfast. Our host was very welcoming and easy to chat with. Thank you again!

Quiet, quaint and perfect.

It was quaint, quiet and perfect for what I needed. Clean and well presented with plenty amenities provided included in the price. Very private away from the owners properties although they were very helpful and welcoming on arrival. I need to find a reason to come to the area again just to stay again!!

Superb stay

What a way to finish a holiday! Great room in a separate garden house, could use the garden at night, fridge stocked with things for breakfast, very comfy beds, quiet surroundings, private parking. We stayed a single night, but it is a great option for multiple nights when visiting beautiful Cambridge and surroundings

A lovely time in a picturesque village with great hosts and an amazing breakfast to start the day

We chose this location for its convenient access to the park and ride into Cambridge, and it turned out to be a perfect base for our two-night stay. The hosts were friendly and courteous, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The Stable Room was bright, airy, and very comfortable, with incredibly cosy bedding (a Christy duvet set) and the added bonus of a comfy chair alongside the table and chairs for eating and planning our days. Breakfast was a real highlight. I can't remember if on Bookings.com we were asked about dietary requirements—my husband is lactose intolerant—it wasn’t an issue for such a short stay. The variety of fresh bread, pastries, Welsh tea bread, and artisan cookies was a lovely surprise. My husband was especially pleased to find a Tassimo machine, just like the one we use at home. A really well thought out offer. The bathroom was well-appointed, with a great shower and high-quality toiletries. The village itself is peaceful, with a small shop for essentials. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the local pub, which was recommended by our host—a great suggestion that added to the charm of our stay. Overall, a delightful and comfortable stay in a well-thought-out space.

The Stable Room was light and airy, thanks to three Velux windows and three standard ones. However, the early sunrise at around 4am proved challenging, as there were no blackout blinds. While we understand that some guests may prefer a minimalist window treatment, a blackout option would have made a big difference to our comfort. The printed information provided mentioned that a COVID-level cleaning routine was still being followed which surprised but also reassured us. The room appeared clean at first glance, but on closer inspection, there were cobwebs in several reachable places. Most notably, there were cobwebs directly above the headboard on the reading lights, which had clearly been missed during basic cleaning. Disappointingly the top of the headboard was quite dusty—I ended up wiping it down myself. It’s a shame, as the accommodation was lovely. Had we not read the note about enhanced cleaning standards, we might not have felt compelled to mention these details. With a bit more attention to the cleaning routine, this stay could have been flawless.

Perfect for our trip

What an absolutely fantastic find of a place! Lovely quiet village setting, short walking distance to a pub serving good meals, yet close to major routes/easy to get into Cambridge itself. Friendly welcoming hosts. Lovely continental breakfast selection including a generous fruit bowl, yoghurt, and pastries, as well as a selection of cereals and a small loaf of bread/spreads. The bread was delicious fresh as well as toasted. Also very much enjoyed tea with the homemade cookies on the garden swing. Powerful shower, light airy space, well equipped kitchen area. Will definitely choose to stay here again over any other Cambridge options!

Quiet location. Comfortable with lots of thought given to amenities. The breakfast choice was superb. The fridge was incredibly well stocked with provisions. The bed was super comfortable and the linen was high quality. Fluffy towels in the bathroom and lots more amenities. Everything was spotlessly clean. Prior to arrival the communication was good, with enhanced directions. It really merits a ten out of ten stay.

Had a beautiful stay at the stables, can’t wait to stay again!

Everything about our stay was perfect. They have such a beautiful home and gardens, our stay in the stables were very comfortable. Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need and more. Scones were delicious, with a tea on the swing in the garden. Bed was very comfortable, had the best night sleep. Would highly recommend a stay here and we would be happy to come back and stay again. Only 15 minutes by car into Cambridge. Had a great weekend. Thankyou .

Good choice of breakfast left in the fridge and kitchen cupboard. The property was situated in a nice quiet location. Situated close to a good pub and bus stop. We enjoyed the cake and cookies left for us which was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay.

The hosts were really nice, if you needed something they were happy to help. Food was great. Room was well presented. Well equipped with the things we needed.

Fantastic countryside stay

I cannot say enough good things about The Old Stables. The owners were beyond helpful when I was delayed and arrived super late. Breakfast was fantastic as well. Location was great -- buses were very regular and the taxi/uber on the first night wasn't too bad, as well. Super close to a fantastic pub. Again, the hosts were brilliant and cannot do enough for you.

Not close to any takeaways, so you are a bit limited for food. But if you time it right with the pub next door or bring a takeaway with you from the city centre, you'll be absolutely fine.

brilliant , it was just what me and my wife wanted for a weekend treat !!

me and my wife had a great weekend stay , we met the host andy { lovely chap} on arrival , told us we had continental breakfast , which was great , supplied us with milk ,cereal , coffee , tea , home made biscuits { which were lovely } bread , marmalade , croissants . Nice pub just down the road { lovely food , especially the ribs } , all in all had a great weekend

Perfect self contained property with everything you need for a short trip. Made to feel at home with plenty of privacy and a lovely garden to sit out in. This was our second visit and we'd happily come back again.
