Cottenham chalet

Close to Cambridge Clean and tidy Cosy Secure parking Well equipped with kitchen appliances Plenty of storage in bedroom Firm mattress

Bathroom is a little tired and has some mould in shower. Slow draining sink and similarly the washing machine (same drain?) so we found clothes remained soaking wet after spin cycle. Also found the TV streaming a bit unreliable. Not owners fault but people staying in the cottage let their dog poo outside the front of the chalet and around the cars without picking it up.

Very noisy boiler. Being criticised for parking our car so as to give another guest with a motorbike adequate space to get past our vehicle.

Fantastic

This is a great little secluded place if you want to get out of the way. The kitchen area works well as does the bathroom. There is parking behind a gate and it feels very secure. I've stayed here on and off for work for the last year and its the best accommodation I've found in the area. They also have a studio annex which is a bit smaller but just as good. If I return here I will be booking again...and again.

Peaceful and self contained little house.

Quiet, private. Good streaming TV. Comfortable double bed. Good kitchen. Excellent washing machine.

Lounge upstairs was uncomfortable. A few minor courtesies that could have been added have been messaged to host so hopefully not an issue in future.

Great location, plenty of space for a couple for the weekend. Comfortable bed.

Parking was a bit difficult as there were no spaces available - especially with a big car! But just popped it up the road after unloading and it was fine!

We enjoyed our stay.

The path going to the Annex needs sorting out ,because the weather was bad we found it very muddy. And it could do with a better mat inside the door so you dont bring in all the mess.

the apartment was super wonderful. Gorgeous view of the mountains from the window. The owner is very friendly. Having met us near the house, he took us to the parking lot. The house is new, the apartment has an excellent renovation. We liked everything.

Lovely place

Absolutely beautiful place. Perfect setting and so comfortable. Everything you need for a short break was supplied. Pub across the road was lovely, although no food served during the week but we only went for a couple of drinks.

Would definitely stay again

It was perfect for our stay and in a great location to suit our plans. Secure gated entrance and perfect for our two dogs

Just one very small critique was the ironing board as it was small and a table top one. BUT that is all we didn’t like as everything was perfect

2 days staying locally

Great location for us , lovely decked area to sit out on. Well equipped kitchen. comfortable bed. Secure parking.

The bedroom was really light as there was no blind or covering over the patio door. We hung a picnic blanket we had up to help a bit but on a summer day it gets light very early! This was the only niggle. It was overall great for us.

Excellent location other than car access road. Looked over town which was just a flight of steep steps away. from the main town centre, pubs, restaurants and shops. Facilities looked good though didn't need to use them as only one overnight stay with early morning checkout.

The road up to the private parking space outside the property entrance is a real challenge for both the driver and the car. I almost burned out my clutch reversing up to it. Didn't have the detailed directions and instructions to access the key before we started travelling so relied on the address to find the property which didn't lead us to the property entrance. contacted the host twice before receiving a reply that the instructions had been sent by email. It would have been helpful to give us the specific directions during the phone reply as we were on the road just above the property entrance and could have parked there avoiding the difficult access road.

Very good stay for 2 nights

This property was good value for money. It was self catering and had what we needed.

It would be nice to have a TV in the living room - perhaps on the wall under the stairs - however it may be a problem with reception. The TV in the bedroom didn't have reception through the wireless system but the host helped to fix it when I explained I couldn't get the tv to work. Dog poo bags were a bonus but it would be nice to have dog food and water bowl.

My wife found the bed hard, though I liked it. Individual preference, no bed will please everyone. Used spare mattress toppers on her side 2nd night and she was fine.

Another pleasant little break in Cambridgeshire.

the property is located in the older part of a typical Cambridgeshire village, with off street parking in a gated walled private area. It is a few minutes drive from either Cambridge itself, or the trunk road network. There is adequate shopping in the village for everyday supplies. The enclosed garden area is particularly useful when you are accompanied by dogs.

There is very little to dislike, we are repeat customers and stay here in preference to the hotels that we used to use.

A home away from home!

Very quaint accommodation! Had everything you needed for nice break away in a cute village not far from Cambridge! It was like a home away from home. You had everything you needed provided for you, hairdryer, towels, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, all cooking utensils, cooker with hob, fridge, kettle, microwave, slow cooker, toaster! Even had extra sofa beds, 1 downstairs and 1 upstairs for extra guests if required. Also pet friendly which is ideal!

There wasn't anything we didn't like in particular but a full length mirror and maybe a curtain for the back door upstairs would be useful! Also, the ceilings are low upstairs so probably wouldn't be best for very tall people!
