It’s comfy, clean and reasonably priced. Ask for all info if you are travelling by car.

The room had everything needed and was very clean. I particularly liked the thoughtful lighting options. There was a small kitchen with fridge and microwave and utensils if you are staying for a longer period. It’s an easy 30 minutes walk into town.

Other visitors were noisy until late at night and the sound travels easily. Free parking on the premises or on the street is restricted and was not made obvious at time of booking.

Comfortability and cleanliness are the words to sum up my stay.

My goodness!!! The best guest house I’ve stayed so far. Apartment is neat and well put together, everything you need for your privacy is in your flat, the self check in, the atmosphere. Everything about Hawthorne guesthouse screams perfection. Il definitely be visiting Cambridge frequently and il always choose Hawthorn Guesthouse.

Clean compact place , in a good location, but poor service and needs updating

The key box was worn and took ages to open, broke a nail . Parking is on the road, but it can be hard to find a space Contacted the owner about an issue and got no reply. Which I thought was concerning Lots of snagging issues The window let in a lot of cold air for done reason

Clean, well thought through studio. Tiny kitchen but they’ve been really clever about what items to give you so you can actually cater.

Can’t give a rating on the staff because it’s 100% self service and I didn’t see a soul in the house.

Great and comfortable stay

It was a great place for our one night stay. The location is great, having one store very close and the city centre just 10 minutes walk. We were very impressed with the conditions in the room and bathroom. Overall I would recommend staying here.

The other guests did not respect quiet hours and started slamming doors early in the morning, which woke us up.

An excellent stay in Cambridge.

The location was excellent just 30 minutes walk to the city, parking was good. Host dealt with issues in a very professional and fast manner.

You must double check what you are getting, we expected a sofa but on arrival just a double bed. Also no cooker. This was my fault for not checking. The bed issue was dealt with very well by the host and she moved us the next day.

All in all, we felt very comfortable in the accommodation.

It was very easy to find and get the keys. The proximity to the city center (about a 20-minute walk) is especially great. We'd love to come back!

The Wi-Fi mentioned in the description unfortunately didn't exist. So we had no internet access. But at least the kids weren’t glued to their phones the whole time.

Great little place to stay

It was in a nice, quiet area close to the city centre. The accommodation was compact and contained everything we needed. The owners were friendly and responsive to messages.

I was in studio 2, I'm sure when I booked it then there was a double bed and a sofa bed advertised. However there was no sofa bed but the owners were very fast at providing a mattress we could have for the floor. Still a great stay.

It was very basic for the money we paid. The electric sockets were loose and therefore did not work properly. The taps were also loose. Shower was mouldy. Dining/lounge area functional but not comfortable. Nowhere to sit comfortably.

Convenient for a short stay in Cambridge

Lots of information about the area was provided before arrival which I appreciated and collecting the keys was easy. The room had everything I needed for a short stay and was convenient for travelling into the centre of Cambridge. Response to my query was fast. Everything was clean and tidy. Wifi connection strong, I was able to work with no difficulties once connected.

The wifi code provided was out-of-date but this was sorted quickly. The TV and one of the power sockets did not work, although I didn't need these it would have been annoying if I did.

Though it was well-located, it's too small a room with a very uncomfortable bed.

It's an apartment - so no breakfast.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable - very 'spongy' (think completely worn-out springs) - sure to give you back trouble. The room was too small - there was hardly any place to keep our suitcases - let alone open them. The bathroom was clean with natural light, but tiny.

Easy access accommodation to walk into Cambridge.

Very compact but extremely good value for overnight stay, parking was not far from accommodation on the street. Shower was amazing.

No problems, but we thought we were getting the annex on ground floor , but we were pleased with 1st level room despite this. Need to be clearer with booking platform. Not guaranteed to get a parking space.

A mixture of great and not great

Good location a little way outside Cambridge. Easy check in. Bathroom was good, as were kitchen facilities. Bit maybe a few more personal touches for the price you pay per night would not go amiss.

Sofa bed was very small and really uncomfortable. If you own the property upstairs, please put carpets or rugs down. The sounds from upstairs travelled down to Studio 5

Really good place to stay at a great price

Perfect for what I needed. Good communication when booking. Easy and free parking. Easy self check-in. Great to have a fridge. Comfy bed. Good location - I can recommend Thirsty wine bar a short walk along Chesterton Road.

Shower temperature was a little hard to control (too hot on full power), but that may just have been user incompetence!

Location was very good, and as a family, to find some toys for our little ones was great. Facility has had essential things to make our stay comfortable.

Very uncomfortable mattress and shower height adjuster broken.

It was very clean. It was a 25 minute walk to the city. It was quiet. The WiFi worked.

The mattress was thin and of very poor quality, such that the springs could be felt. I had very little sleep and my back aches. The slider to raise and lower the shower height was broken so I either had to crouch down or hold the shower head throughout. There were no spaces in the road to park in and the three spaces at the front of the property were not accessible to me. There was tea and sugar but no coffee or milk. There was no where to put shampoo, soap, etc in the shower, such as a shelf or basket.

Clean and fully-equiped studio in great location and quiet road, with a communicative host.

Ivana being available to reach easily definitely made a huge difference in my stay. Having stayed in other places before where communication was a nightmare this is definitely now one of my priorities when booking. The studio was well organised and very clean. Had all I needed really for a stay.

These are simply improvement suggestions, nothing that made me change my mind about returning. - The pillows were too thick for my taste - I might bring my own next time and that should do. But maybe I'd suggest adding a thinner one as an option if you guys can :) - Also although there was a good-sized clothing hack which came very handy, some drawers or baskets would also make a great addition to store clothes. - Shower head can do with descaling to allow for more water pressure. Again, nothing major!
