Gungl Stubn is my favorite place to stay in the area for ski trips. Friendly hosts and fair pricing.

Very disappointing stay with completely unprofessional and disrespectful management

Location

Very disappointing stay. There was drug use on the balcony below us and the apartment was extremely noisy. The staff held a private Christmas party, were visibly drunk, and reacted disrespectfully when we complained. We were unfairly accused of being disrespectful, while in reality it was the other way around. The shower needs renovation, the beds were uncomfortable, and communication was difficult due to poor German and no English. As a result, we left one day earlier than planned

Had an amazing stay in Gunghl Stubn!

One of my memorable stays I had on my trips. The balcony with the mountain view is super! Room is clean and very tidy, coffee and teas are available in the room and beds are really comfy with an extra blanket. The owners are very nice and welcoming. They also owned the restaurant downstairs and we really loved all the food that we had there. Super close to the train station like just 2-3 mins walk, and the bus stop going to Eibsee is just right in-front of the hotel so it’s very convenient. The area is very quiet, despite the restaurant being downstairs, we had 3 quiet nights and amazing sleep. Overall I enjoyed my whole stay in Gungl Stubn and would really love to go back! 😁

One of the best stays I've ever had! 🌟 I stayed in Grainau for a short trip and honestly, this hotel exceeded all my expectations! The staff were absolutely amazing — so kind, helpful, and genuinely trying to make sure I was comfortable. They went above and beyond to assist me whenever they could. The view from my room was breathtaking — straight onto the mountains, a real dream! The location is perfect, just next to a bus stop, which made getting around super easy. The room was spotless, very clean and cozy. I also loved that they provided a coffee machine, kettle, and tea in the room for free — a small detail, but made a big difference.

Pleasant stay but not the most convenient stay nor are there many amenities.

The room is very cute and has an amazing view of the mountain.

I think the breakfast was a little expensive and should be included with the room or at least be cheaper. The staff was not available for check in or check out. Wifi was terrible and kept disconnecting.

Lots of room for improvement.

Good breakfasts, great view of an alp from our room, easy to find location, centrally located.

No real curtains so had to hang a blanket to block out the green light from the restaurant. No real pillows. Only decorative “throw” pillows with the same support as a dumpling. Asked for more or different pillows and got none. The beds were very uncomfortable. The carpet peeled and left a hair like substance on our feet. Tried to move it and found lots of dirt underneath. The shower had no shower curtain which made showering very tricky to avoid getting the floor soaked. Weak to no wifi in rooms. Communication with staff was very bad, no information on arrival and no follow up during our stay. This is clearly a restaurant that decided to add on some guest rooms so not well set up.

Overall the stay was enjoyable and the owner Silvia was very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was prepared per room basis and the portion was more than adequate/generous for 2 person and they also provided a hot dish besides the usual cold cut meat, cheese and bread. Fully concur with all previous review on the quality of the breakfast. We have a good view of the mountain and the air is fresh and cool during spring.

The bed was a bit soft but it personal preference for a firm bed. The only bugbear is that from the car park to the hotel entrance you need to lugged your bags up 2 flight of stairs.

Absolut unprofessionell. Unsere Mitarbeiter standen bei Anreise vor verschlossener Tür, obwohl die Ankunftszeit telefonisch besprochen wurde. Zudem sieht man sich seit September 2025 nicht in der Lage, ein Rechnung auszustellen. Selbst auf Nachricht vom Booking.com-Kundenservice wurde nicht reagiert.

Top Lage. Man konnte super auf die Berge schauen. Man hatte die Zugspitze immer in Sichtweite. Personal super nett. Hatte man ein Problem haben sie sofort mit Lösungen reagiert. Essen Top. Sauberkeit Top. Hat absolut meiner Vorstellung übertroffen. Der Urlaub war ein voller Erfolg.

Die Aussicht vom Zimmer. Auf dem Balkon frühstücken und die schöne Sicht auf das Wettersteingebirge geniesen, einfach toll. Das sehr gute Essen in der Gaststätte. Und die Freundlichkeit des Personals.

Es ging steil die Treppen hinauf, für Leute mit körperichen Einschränkungen fast unmöglich. Mit Rollstuhl würde das nicht gehen. Es gab, obwohl es im Angebot stand, kein Frühstück dort. Man kann es sich aber auf dem Zimmer machen und dann die Aussicht auf dem Balkon erleben. Eine klassische Rezeption gibt es nicht.

Laipni un atsaucīgi saimnieki. Teicama atrašanās vieta, lai dotos pārgājienos kalnos. Dažu metru attālumā no naktsmītnes atrodas gan autobusa, gan vilciena pieturas.

Das Zimmer ist schon sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Direkt neben dem Hotel verlaufen die Bahnschienen, der Zug fährt regelmäßig. Es war alles okay, nicht mehr, nicht weniger.

Die Unterkunft war wunderschön gelegen, sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Herzlichkeit der Inhaber – so freundlich, hilfsbereit und engagiert. Sie haben entscheidend dazu beigetragen, dass unser Aufenthalt wirklich etwas Besonderes wurde. Auch das Essen im hauseigenen Restaurant war absolut lecker und mit viel Sorgfalt zubereitet. Man fühlt sich sofort willkommen und bestens aufgehoben. Ein echtes Highlight war der atemberaubende Ausblick von der Terrasse – einfach traumhaft und perfekt zum Entspannen.

Es gab absolut nichts, was uns gestört hätte – wir waren rundum zufrieden.
