Cottage quirky and in good location . Small for a couple but good for one person. More attention required to monitor rub

Location good and it was quirky Low score because of the rubbish and recycling not cleared at the front and cigarette butts out the front . The cottage overall was clean but it was obvious that someone had been smoking in the bathroom .

Battery recharge

That's a lovely cottage for a couple to recharge the batteries from a daily routine. The view out of the window is absolutely magnificent. What was more we were lucky with the weather and had a chance to accomplish numerous hikes, trailrunning and cycling sessions to various places nearby. The cottage contains all nitty-gritty things to feel like home.

In case you're tall enough, you'll have to bend your head not to kick the ceiling since it's pretty low because of the compact size of a cottage. And there were some woodlice in the cottage because the building is rather old and it's a typical feature of a mountainious area. But As far as we don't have any entomophobia it didn't cause us any trouble.

Lovely!

Amazing little cottage in the middle of the Peak District. Perfectly equipped for 1-2 people, I lovingly refered to it as my tiny little hobbit house for the week. Smart use of the small space, and very comfy bed, bathroom and couch. Walking distance from the busstops, bars and shops in Bradwell!

The cottage was a little damp and there was quite some woodlice inside, did not feel too clean but then again it´s an old cottage.

Lovely stay

The location was really cosy, the roads are very very steep and narrow in the area so something to keep in mind but finding parking was easy and close by, the view was pretty and the house itself was lovely, all the essential were inside and it is really a perfect place to stay, wish we had longer to stay and would definitely go again, essentials like butter,milk, tea, loo roll, hand wash to name a few were supplied and there is a local co op, the curtains are a chiffon fabric in the bedroom so the sun does wake you up even if folded to double it up so something to keep in mind, the stairs steps are narrow and the ceiling a bit low so if you are tall it's something to keep in mind when booking but for us shorties it was completely fine (5'8 and 5'2), the bed is incredibly comfortable and the tiling in the shower is ever so pretty, there is a massive TV in the living room and bedroom, there is also a microwave, oven and hob if you wish to cook, really recommend staying, the key box is easy to use so nothing to stress about with key collection and return, the bathroom floor does get wet when you shower and the shower curtain does help but a quick towel wipe to the floor and all problems are solved, the local curry cabin does do deliveries and the fish/chip shop is a short walk away and open most days and both provided a great experience for us, thank you for providing a great stay

Without the HOT WATER issue we could have had a good time even after parking issue.

Good location, with shops near by, for our planned trips. The facilities were very adequate for two people, and kitchen was great and managed to cook a full Xmas dinner.

Parking neighbors awful, roads very hilly and tight single lane. Had hot water on first night in Kitchen, BUT NO HOT WATER OR HEATING FOR THE REST OF OUR STAY (DISAPPOINTED). Made several phone calls to the Sykes agency about emergency heating and hot water issue. Got a message saying they would contact me in 20 minutes, but never helped me? This property needs a meet and greet team member from the Sykes agency on initial house arrival (3pm)

Nice village, cosy cottage but a bit small for us.

Location good, street parking a short distance away.

No working wifi router meant no TV, no wifi calling with no local phone signal to deal with. Found this out on our journey to the property. Nice cottage but a bit too cramped even for just two. Key didn't turn very well in lock, not great in the dark.

Excellent location, short distance to all places that we planned to visit. Very quiet place and village in comparison with the neighbouring Castleton. will definitely come back!

We had such a fantastic stay at Winslade, and would happily go back! Can't recommend enough!

We loved Winslade! The house was cosy, clean, well decorated and homely, the perfect little place to relax, and set in a lovely quiet village with a beautiful view of the peaks. It had everything we needed - kitchen utensils, pots, pans etc. for cooking, a comfy bed and sofa, big TVs with Netflix and Amazon Prime, good information provided in the booklet, everything in great working order. The local co op was open all hours (even with it being Easter bank holiday weekend), so easy to get supplies. The local Indian, the Curry Cabin, delivers to the house and was very good. We had a fantastic stay and would've happily stayed much longer!

There's nothing significant that we didn't like. Took us a moment to understand how to get the shower hot but that was just user error! It's a very hilly village, as you'd expect from the peaks - we loved it but worth bearing in mind if you have poor mobility. The only thing I'd say for others visiting is the local cafe and chip shop are shut on weekends, so bear this in mind if, like me, you have a coffee problem and buy some filter coffee to use in the cafetiere at the house :)

Het slot in de voordeur is erg lastig open te krijgen met de sleutel. Daar moet echt iets aan gedaan worden.
