Misleading photographs led to a disappointing experience

The host seemed very friendly. He was communicative and responsive. We were sorry to let him down by not staying there, but the accommodation did not meet the expectations that had been created. The location is very good - in the centre of town.

This accommodation did not meet our expectations and as a result we did not stay there and sought alternative accommodation. The photos that are shown on booking.com do not match up to the actual accommodation. The first photo is a beautiful-looking house. This is where we thought we would be staying. However, this is not actually the accommodation. The rooms in the flat were very small and the decor was tired. For what we were charged we expected a lot more from this accommodation. We requested a refund as we felt the photos were misleading, but the host was not willing to refund us. Also, be aware that the parking is quite a way from the accommodation and the route from the garage to the flat is tricky to navigate if you have luggage.

Excellent break after a long flight

Great location one street from the piazza and with a glimpse of the lake from our balcony. Apartment is small but had everything we needed. Dario was amazing, right from the start, when he recommended and booked dinner for us as we were arriving after a long flight. Also sorted garage for our car. Recommend Orta as a short break for anyone flying into Malpensa

Just a warning… town is difficult if you need to bring in large luggage. Pack light bag for the night.

The historic nature of the apartment and the building in which it was housed coupled with its excellent central location, its facilities ie well equipped kitchen, lounge/dining and bathroom/laundry but most of all its owner and his partner who went above and beyond from picking us up and dropping us off at station to immediately fixing the problem that my husband caused with the washing machine.

The mosquitos in the bedroom that came through the open balcony doors but a good spraying of the room fixed that. May have been a seasonal thing

Perfect host and a comforfable cosy home in a medieval street just off the Orta main square.

The host Dario went above and beyond and picked us up from the train station and then took us back there when we were leaving. We were so grateful for this as there is no other way to get to Orta other than by foot!

Everything! Dario is an excellent host. We will be back and will share what a great place the apartment is in the very center, close to beautiful walks, delicious food and a quick boat ride to Isola San Giulio. We have treasured memories!

Fabulous apartment in a stunning location

Dario was an amazing host. He collected me from the train station as, unfortunately, there is no local transport from the train station to the town. He also took me back to the train station at the end of my stay. The apartment was perfect for our 3 night stay. It is centrally located, just 100m away from the lake, so it was in a very convenient location with plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby. We loved the view from the balcony The apartment was well equipped with microwave, coffee maker, stove top etc and there was also a washing machine (which I was very grateful for).

There was nothing that we didn't like. The only comment would be that if people are sleeping in the sofa bed which is located in the lounge - there is only a lightweight net curtain covering the balcony windows, so you would be woken up early in the summer mornings.

Everything was perfect. We were 2 couples going to a wedding. Dario, the owner was so nice, he went to the orta train station to pick us up as the station is far from the city center on foot. Flat is ideally located, right on the main place. You can open both doors with codes which was really usefull while being 4 people. A lot of things are also included, tea, coffee, spray against mosquito, (there were not so much actually), washing machine....

Because of its perfect location, the night from saturday was a bit loud as a group of young people decided to continue their party in the street at 3am. Sunday night was more quiet.

Dario is a very kind and good host. He has offered to pick us up at the train station and bring us there on our departure day without our asking. All because he just wants his guests to really enjoy their holidays, which we did! His flat is modern but kept a traditional feel, very clean. He also gave us good recommendations on where to eat and where to go. The flat is right in the middle of town, just a few feet away from the town's bakery (very good one too!), a few minutes walk to the small port, where there are boats to ferry people to the Isla d'Orta. Highly recommended!!!

Все!!! Средневековый дом, при этом сделаны все удобства. Чисто, красиво, стильно. В квартире есть все, и прекрасная кофемашина и куча всего для душа (в отелях такого не увидишь). Чудесный хозяин. Очень помогал с парковкой и чемоданом. Остались все в полном восторге!

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht

Die Wohnung liegt charmant inmitten des, Dorfes. Das Dörfchen ist sehr herzig.

Die Wohnung, war aber deutlich anders als auf Booking dargestellt. Das Startbild bei Booking stimmt überhaupt nicht mit der Realität überein. Wohnung befindet sich in sehr altem Haus, Zugang nur zu Fuß, Parkieren bei der Unterkunft nicht möglich. Die angebotene Garage war (entgegen der Aussage vom Gastgeber sie sei sehr gross) sehr eng, sehr weit entfernt und schwer erreichbar. Die öffentlichen Parkplätze seien sehr teuer, sagte der Gastgeber. Dabei hatte es sogar gratis Parkplätze (weisse Zone). Die Wohnung war sehr kühl und hellhörig. Wir hatten über den ganzen Aufenthalt 18 Grad in der Wohnung und haben gefroren. Wir waren sehr enttäuscht und für den Preis wars leider überhaupt nicht überzeugend.

Tout ! Dario, notre hôte, est d’une gentillesse et d’une disponibilité exceptionnelles. Il nous a adorablement accueilli, aidé à garer notre voiture, et présenté l’appartement. Les matelas sont très confortables, l’appartement est parfaitement équipé, lumineux, idéalement placé (à 2 minutes de la place Motta) La salle de bain est récente, petite mais optimisée et parfaitement agencée. Dario est de très bon conseil quant aux restaurants et glaciers. Il est très facile à contacter et son anglais est parfait pour dialoguer facilement.

Super gelegen apartement met alle nodige voorzieningen.

Het apartement ligt midden in het centrum van Orta San Giulio. Je wandelt in een minuut naar het hoofdplein dat direct aan het meer ligt met de aanlegsteigers voor de ferry naar het eiland en de overhang van het meer. De eigenaar was heel erg enthusiast , vriendelijk en behulpzaam.
