Vintage Apartment by Apartments Capricorn

I liked the scenery, the village, the district, staying in a 300 year old Swiss chalet (yes, the low ceilings were intimidating). The bedroom was big. I slept well. The shower worked well and was hot. We managed to cook meals OK. We got our washing done. The local bus was great to move about. The village is sweet and very tidy with flowers, vegetables and a community store. A do good Christian group (CIG-Stiftung) has a significant real estate presence in Gsteigwiler.

Communication was infuriating. A series of well timed seemingly detailed emails were auto sent at the various stages of the whole process. Sugary sweet - like "we are excited about your visit" but hollow - like "anything you need ask, just reach out" without then giving an email or communication method that might work. Within the first half day I sent a few replies to these welcoming emails and got no replies. Nothing back. For example the guest cards were not available as described. Never got a reply. Thought I may be using the wrong channel and gave up. But wait, on our last night they asked me for help - they used WhatsApp - they were looking for two spare pillows - I had seen two on a bench outside airing. So I told them and also of lots of issues we had and how we got no replies. No reply came back. Not even a thank you for my responding within 20 minutes. This is Switzerland I put it down to. This was my WhatsApp reply: "No, there are not two extra pillows in our apt. Oddly there were two on the seat bench outside to the downhill side of our door. I moved them to the back of the seat as it was starting to rain..... By the way I had sent Daria a few messages over our first day by replying to her welcoming emails. I never got any reply. My emails covered things as we discovered them including:- No guest cards present where indicated in the photo. No plug for the kitchen sink. We also note:- The bathroom door needs a jolly good push to fully close it - probably not possible for children or maybe women to achieve. The plug in the bathroom sink can easily jam closed so cannot be drained until freed by something thin. The light on the kitchen overhead does not come on (blown globe?) and the fan only works on the maximum level. Schöne, neu renovierte Dach-Wohnung. Guter Ausgangspunkt für Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald und Seen

Alles tiptop. Lediglich der Parkplatz scheint mir etwas improvisiert und für grössere Autos nicht so gut erreichbar

L’emplacement, impossibilité de se garer dans un champ sensé servir de parking, la vétusté de la maison, aucune insonorisation, c’est sombre, la moustiquaire est cassé rafistolée avec du scotch il en faudrait à toute les ouvertures sinon invasion de mouches, aucun produit dans la salle de bain pas même un savon pour les mains, terrasse minable avec vue sur grange tout aussi minable
