I am not a complaining gent, but I don't recommend Sterzing and Mondschein to solo travelers

dead easy to find the location and the reception was manned and open until 10PM at least, so I did not have to worry about self check in procedures. receptionist for the day was gifted with a friendly face he was perfect for the job. Nice balcony, and views from it. Innsbruck rates are so overpriced, what are they thinking?? so this is why I have decided to stay the night in nearby Südtirol instead where a shoulder season rate didn't break the bank. If you don't have a car, you can take a mini van city bus to BRAUNHOF high in the mountains, but I warn you hikes up there are tough and steep.

made me feel uneasy as a solo traveler depending on public transit and the vibe wasn't right. Typical groups and couples accommodation, the signs were there because I was denied breakfast. I don't know if I should have talked back and demanded my complimentary food but since the breakfast staff was disrespectfully rude, I left asap. Also, I nearly made a disastrous mistake for the second time that there are no trains between 1103 and 1303 back to Brenner and then the remaining leg to Innsbruck HBF was delayed as well, I was shaking like al leaf from being tense!! just made my flight by the skin of my teeth!! Lesson learned, next time stay in Innsbruck.

I was looking for a pet friendly last minute accommodation and couldn't have been luckier. Booked a single room and was given a triple, in the annex, so that the dog would be less bothered with noises; and with a nice balcony, so also good for smokers. I asked for a dinner in the room and was served very fast. Staff is extremely gentle. Breakfast is glorious.

Most of the TV channels weren't working (Italian DTV). Dinner prices not listed

We loved Hotel Mondschein! The rooms were huge, modern, and ours had a balcony on two sides! They're pet friendly with no additional fees. The included breakfast was good, and the dinner was delicious and reasonably priced.
