This little hotel was the highlight of our stay in Albania. The location was amazing, right on the ocean. The balcony was lovely, and there was an excellent drying rack. There were screen doors to the balcony, so we left the glass doors open at night and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. There isn't a sandy beach in front of the hotel, but the flat rocks give good access to the ocean, and if you are uncomfortable going off the rocks, it is only a few steps to the small sandy beach in front of the Oceanic Hotel. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available in the hotel, and the famly will assist with set up. The family running it, Marcella, Yuli and daughter Gloria were lovely. Neither parent spoke much English, but Gloria was quite proficient. Regarding food, breakfast was not included, but Marcella would cook breakfast on request for a reasonable price and it was often followed by a complementary plate of fruit. The hotel had a bar, which was used by the patrons using the public "beach" in front of the hotel, but they didn't do dinner. However, right next door through the parking lot, was a restaurant we loved. It was also right on the beach, the staff were great, and we really enjoyed the food. We tried other restaurants just up the driveway on the main street, but kept coming back to that one. Just a note to other travellers. If you are driving, it isn't easy to find the address, so when you are nearby, watch for the driveway to the Oceanic Hotel, and follow that right down to the bottom. You will need to advise the Hotel in advance to ensure they hold a parking space for you.

Of note, to request fresh towels, we had to wait for the daughter Gloria to translate. Once done, though, service was immediate. There is a hairdryer, but no shampoo, so bring your own. Also, although there was a kettle in the room with some tea bags, there was no coffee. However, we were able to walk up the driveway to the street and buy packets of Nescafe, which worked very well.

The location is topnotch as it is literally in front of the public beach. Clean apartment with air conditioning and a breath taking view from the balcony. There is a washing machine for only 5 Eur per use. Owners were very accomodating and helpful in setting up beach chairs, towels, etc. if you are planning to swim. They also own the bar there so everything that you need for a good beach day is there.

This is not necessarily what I didn't like but moreso what others might be looking for in their next stay. There was no kitchen, and the bar they own downstairs doesn't serve lunch items. This was not a problem for me since there are so many restaurants to go to. It can get loud during the day from the neighboring bar's music but it definitely quiets down at night. Location might not be the closest to the center of Saranda, but can be reached in 20 minutes on foot.

It was in a great location and the family were lovely and hospitable

Over priced for the basic style accommodation, the location and views were obviously what you are paying for. It was a shame the hotel didn’t offer beach chairs to sit on, as the rocks were uncomfortable.
