This was 2nd booking. Planning a 3rd for summer 2026.

Location perfect. So quiet yet just a very short walk to village centre. The "shed" is well appointed and was spotless. Lovely lawned garden with seating, and is secluded. TV and free WI FI. Walk in shower. Heaters if it gets chilly. Excellent breakfast basket supplied along with tea and coffee, milk and orange juice.

Thanks for a great stay over the Christmas period

Location was lovely and peaceful, we found the facilities good and easy to use. So loved watching the birds in the garden.

Not being tall we found the bed and kitchen worktops a bit high for us also as we are used too memory foam mattresses we found that the bed mattress was a bit harder and higher than we expected overall we spent our days visiting family members and we shall certainly recommend the property to our friends and relatives wanting a welcome break and stay in a idyllic place

Melford Allotment Shed

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the allotment shed. The little touches Joanna added were lovely, a breakfast hamper, coffee and tea, bathroom toiletries, games, and books to use. It also has a lovely private garden with seating for you to enjoy. It's in a lovely quiet location just off a lovely village street full of quaint antique shops, lovely coffee and tea shops, and many village pubs and restaurants to eat. The Melford allotment shed was sparkling clean and a real credit to Joanna. We will definitely look to stay again as the whole break we had was really enjoyable.

Lovely Little Place

The accommodation looked very attractive - tastefully decorated with a vintage theme. The shower was good. Milk, orange juice, breakfast items, tea and coffee were all provided. The location, just off the main street, was excellent and, except for the cockerel crowing, was very peaceful.

There was nowhere comfortable to sit - the only sitting area was at the table. Cooking facilities were just a microwave and toaster.

Wonderful stay in Long Melford.

Beautiful design with attention to details, owner had thought of all the little things that make a stay away special for guests. A peaceful little oasis off the busier high street with a private garden. Very clean and well looked after. Would recommended to others.

We stayed in the summer and found it very hot at night even with fan provided, a bigger rotating fan may have made a difference.

Probably the best UK apartment we have stayed at for comfort, convenience and chill.

A fantastic stay! What a beautiful property, and a lovely welcoming host. The Allotment Shed host has literally thought of EVERYTHING. The garden is just beautiful, bed super comfy, shower nice and powerful and all of the fixtures & fittings are spot on. The little breakfast left out was great and welcome in the morning, and lovely toiletries feature also. Quality bedding and towels, lovely mattress, and even a fan for the warm weather. We wanted for nothing. The village of Long Melford is super - bakery, lovely little shops and Co-op open late for provisions. We found the locals to be very friendly and wished we could have stayed longer as the local pubs and eateries looked great. I can highly recommend The Allotment Shed to anyone visiting the area. We will 100% return :) Free parking topped off the high praise!

Heaven Shed

Everything, it was a brilliant stay from start to finish, the breakfast hamper that Joanna left for us was lovely and lasted us the 3 days we stayed, so many great pubs and takeaways in the village to choose from, we had a lovely curry from Melford valley tandoori and a cracking Sunday lunch in the Crown. So quiet and peaceful, heard a pair of Tawney owls most nights, I can imagine in the summer the garden is a brilliant sun trap. Would definitely return, thank you Joanna.

A delightful and relaxing stay

First and foremost Joanna was a lovely host who was very accommodating and easy to contact. The property was in a peaceful location with Long Melford high street on your doorstep. It was very well equipped and Joanna added some lovely little touches with a welcome pack. Would definitely recommend.

Not really a case of didn't like, just that being 5ft 2 it was difficult to see in the mirror provided to dry your hair, not necessarily an issue generally.

Perfect Property for Countryside Staycation

Beautiful self catering accommodation, decorated and appointed tastefully in a retro style. Ideally located in a quiet position-close to the Town but only a couple of minutes walk to lovely countryside. Ideal base for exploring a Historical Heritage and Landscape. Lots of thoughtful extras by Host....Tea, Coffee, Milk, Bread , Fruit, Breakfast basket etc

A place to stay and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of the world we live in.

Everything was perfect, from the first step inside the allotment shed, we enjoyed the most wonderful few days relaxing in a perfect location. It was just what we needed and we have recommended the allotment shed to our family and friends. The enclosed garden was the icing 9n the cake. I sat writing my holiday journal there every evening with a contented smile on my face.

A perfect unique property in a great location.

Beautiful relaxing garden, lovely open views across the meadow, the allotment shed is presented to a high standard with a welcome pack of local fresh produce on arrival. The local village which is a 2 mins walk away has lots of interesting independent shops, cafe’s etc.

I really can’t think of anything I would have changed or liked to be different.

A wonderful relaxing break in a beautiful setting.

The host had been very thoughtful and left some fresh fruit and breakfast items. We had plentiful provisions and everything was spotlessly clean. Would definitely recommend and wish to stay again.

Perfect in everyway

I had booked a friend into this who was visiting from the USA. Everything was as described, Joanna went the extra mile to make our friend feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, she did a couple of additional "room service" as our friend was here for two weeks. There was a lovely starter welcome pack of goodies including milk & cereal. Everything was spotless and everything just perfect. Location was great for all facilities in the village He was very happy here and will stay again next time he visits. He said to leave a 100% top revue as everything was 100%

You need to stay here

This is an absolute little gem and would highly recommend. Not does Joanna (the owner) ensure you have all the info you need prior to arrival (video with directions, change of key location/muddy path update - all of which meant I was prepared and made my life easier for a late arrival) she has also managed to think of absolutely everything. The shed is warm, clean, well-appointed and has a lovely comfy bed. I can't think of a reason not to stay here. :)

Lovely,relaxing and very much needed.

The location was very good, but the best thing was the host,i never met Joanna,but I made a very stupid mistake in not checking for train strikes on the Friday,and Joanna very Kindly offered to change my stay from Saturday to Monday. You don't have to meet a person to appreciate them and Joanna is clearly a person who looks after and takes care of her guests. I would greatly recommend this property to a couple or single person looking for a relaxing, cultured,social time time away. I will most definitely be going back.

Charming accommodation superbly located to explore Suffolk.

Breakfast was juice, fruit and cereal. Melford Allotment Shed is creatively designed with several vintage items. The theme was cleverly maintained without becoming kitch. Scrupulously clean and nice towels.

Room was too hot for us but weather was humid and bed a little firm but that is a personal preference.
