A wonderful stay in Edinburgh thanks to impeccable accommodation

We had a great stay at Lorraine's place. Communication with Lorraine was superb, we were given the keys and sufficient instructions. It took us about 45 minutes to walk to the center, but there is a good bus connection. The accommodation had everything we needed and had a very homely atmosphere. Our stay in Edinburgh was great, thanks also to the sunny weather.

A nice stay in grandmother’s house

Very complete house , quiet ,good to get some rest after visits to the city. Good beds , friendly host. bustop is near by, supermarkets etc just around the corner.

The sofa in the living needs to be replaced by a better one. The house is somewhat overdecorated and too full.

The only thing we didn’t like was that the TV couldn’t connect to the internet. But of course, this wasn’t a big problem.

Grubby and dirty

The area was very quiet, bus stop just around the corner.

parking is ridiculous, have to park right tight against a wall, so no one can leave or enter the car on that side. We were led to believe that the property is vacated at 10am and not re let until 4pm, so to allow it to be cleaned. This property hasn't been cleaned for months. Although the bedding had been refreshed, that was about all. Cobwebs by the tonne. Photos to prove it. Even the remains of someone's cooking fat in the pan in the oven. I agree the host is a friendly lady, but she obviously needs to employ a cleaner, if she wishes to keep renting the property out. The wardrobe in the twin bedroom is virtually inaccessible as the dressing table is too close.

Wonderful, a home from home!

Lorraine was the perfect host, very welcoming. Every single wish was catered for and loads of local information available. Instantly felt at home and comfortable. Location was good for accessing all tourist areas and practical shops alike. The house is on several bus routes and easy to navigate. Lovely views, nice neighbourhood and a nice garden complete with visiting fox! Highly recommended!

Parking was steep but not a problem. Stairs to front door also steep, but again, not a problem for us. Mobility restraints might be an issue for some. But then you wouldn't have that lovely view!

Lovely property - we had a great stay.

Lovely home with great resources and attention to detail. Quite close to Edinburgh city but in a lovely quiet cul de sac. We had a squirrel family visit us in the back garden.

Typical 2 up and 2 down - steep stairs and upstairs bathroom with shower over the bath.

Perfect location for a quiet stay in Edinburgh.

Quiet residential location, easy walking distance to shops and botanical gardens, elevated position gave nice view of the city with Edinburgh castle in the distance. Bus stop close by, but the walk into the city was easy (about a 50 minute walk). Walk to Leith also easy, with a direct well surfaced path (disused railway line, now used for pedestrians and cyclists) this took just over an hour to walk, to visit the Royal yacht Britannia. Private garden and parking. Comfortable house with well equipped kitchen, excellent welcome selection of food and drink supplied by our host Lorraine, which was a lovely surprise. House was very clean and the facilities were excellent.

We liked everything. We were not aware before our stay that the house is on a steep slope, this could result in access difficulties for people with mobility problems, but was not an issue for us.

The property is great. The view from the front bedroom is amazing. The house has everything you need for a short or long stay. Lorraine was great and left a simple starter set up of bread 🥖 milk and cheese 🧀 to get you going.

Geweldige plek, met veel ruimte en voorzieningen.

Fijn dat er veel ruimte was, boven slapen en je kleding en overige spullen neerleggen en beneden lekker zitten, koken en eten. Geweldig dat er een wasmachine was en zelfs wasmiddel! Goede busverbindingen op 6 minuten lopen. Ook een fijne tuin, met een onverwachte vos als extra bezienswaardigheid. Host heeft ons heel vriendelijk ontvangen en al voorzien in brood en melk voor de 1e dag. Vanwege trap aan de buitenkant en binnenshuis niet geschikt voor mindervaliden.
