The steep hill getting back to the hotel from the town. You can get a taxi which could cost up to £10 but still worth it.

It was our third stay and it didn't disappoint.

The staff and service at Lincombe are all excellent and the food at The Brasserie was really good. Location is perfect with both Torquay and Meadfoot bay walking distance and everywhere else easily accessible by car.

Our only negative was that as we stayed just after Christmas the spa was extremely busy with both residents and day spa visitors so getting a bed was an issue and it was causing problems with some guests who were clearly not happy. Maybe a revised booking system may be needed during busy times and when the hotel is full.

A truly wonderful winter weekend

The spa is amazing! I went for a Friday to Sunday break in the winter and it was like being on a mini holiday (I live 10 miles away). It was a perfect weekend and I came back feeling incredible.

It’s not a “didn’t like” but guests should be aware it’s a 30-40 minute walk from the station. There are buses. The hill up to the hotel is relatively steep.

Lovely hotel , staff were very helpful and polite Really smart Hotel. Had a lovely breakfast cooked to order and a wide range to choose from. Taxi to and from seafront would be ideal for people who struggle but it is walkable !nice bit of a 20 min exercise !

The spa was wonderful, the was a selection of different spas to try and the pool was the right temperature. All the staff was friendly from the beginning. I will be coming back.

Amazing spa and great location

This is my second stay at the hotel and even coming out of season when the outdoor pool is closed, it’s a lovely hotel and an amazing spa - a great place to relax and the main reception areas are fabulous. The bar staff were super helpful and kind.

I stayed in one of the single unrefurbished rooms which is a massively different experience from the rest of the hotel in terms of comfort. It’s an adequate room and I expect you get what you pay for but it is in no way 4 star and I still think for the room rate paid - more care could be put into these rooms as they felt a little dingy and left- there was no other single room rate available to get a refurbished room.

Walking distance to sea front and restaurants. Excellent breakfast- lovely spa. Staff with one exception were excellent and cheerful and always very helpful.

Having to pay for parking additional £45 just because we didn’t book direct with hotel - how else do they expect to get new business other than third parties such as booking.com I have never seen an advertisement for this hotel as far as I can remember! Choices for dining not very extensive- our room was very small and one morning someone was working on fire escape outside our window which meant we had to keep blind down whilst getting ready. Seal around outer bath panel all hanging off hot tap missing its cap just small things but makes it look a little tatty. No pull out shaving/makeup mirror is always disappointing as lighting over mirrors never good in hotel rooms!

What a fantastic hotel! Clean, warm, welcoming, with everything you might need. The spa was beautiful, the bar area had a great atmosphere but the best thing about the stay was the staff. They were welcoming, attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Fantastic, just a couple of niggles

The spa was wonderful, the staff were brilliant and the room was very nice.

There was a bloodstain on the bed cover and we had to ask a member of staff to fix a broken catch on the window, preventing it from closing.

Lovely lounge and restaurant. Spa facilities were really nice. We particularly enjoyed the heated outside pool. Good choice at breakfast. Staff were exceptionally helpful and polite.

Slightly intrusive music playing in public areas. The lounge would benefited from a bookshelf or two. Car parking charge was a bit excessive. That strange white sausage at breakfast was a poor alternative to proper black pudding!

Hotel and spa are fantastic! Opening hours of the spa are great and the staff are attentive and knowledgeable! The rooms are a good size and very comfortable.

Incredible spa, friendly staff, delicious food - a great hotel.

Comfortable, warm rooms, powerful shower, amazing spa. The pool was a good size, the jacuzzi huge and brilliant, great sauna, steam room etc. Being able to order drinks to come to the pool was also the bonus. The dinners were tasty and the staff super friendly. I will definitely be back!

Not 4 star hotel.

I dont know how this hotel can be rated 4 star. There's no way. 4 star hotels have to be spotless and all fixture and fittings should be unbroken, clean and well kept. Hot tubs and outdoor swimming pool temperature on the colder side. Breakfast also not great, had much better.
