Stayed for one night to make the sunrise climb of Mount Batur. Hotel can arrange a (mandatory) guide to take you up the mountain. Set off around 4am and returned around 8am. Enjoyed breakfast and relaxed in the pool. Rooms were large and clean.

The cabins are wonderful with amazing views. Wayan and Nyoman are excellent and always ready to assist.
Can’t say. It was amazing apart from the flies. Lol

- Nice staff.
- Good breakfast
- it was relaxing to go into the springs filled pool early morning or later in the day (too hot during the day)
- The bungalows retain heat from the sun so it feels like a hot oven during the day (a fan exists but is not enough).
- Since the water comes from the springs, the sink and shower water are also hot, so it’s impossible to refresh oneself when the weather’s hot outside.
- Apparently a common problem in the area, but the flies make it unbearable to stay outside, especially when we wanted to eat outside.
- No mosquito net on the bed or covering the windows
- The location is a bit far away from the city center with no available grabs or gojeks, so enjoying the area is complicated.

This was my third stay, and it was by far the best yet! This time I stayed in a different room with AC, a private hot springs pool, and a beautiful rooftop terrace — such a treat. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed.
As always, the hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, making me feel completely at home. Their hospitality is what keeps me coming back.
The combination of comfort, peaceful surroundings, and the chance to relax in my own hot spring pool made this stay unforgettable. I’ll definitely be back again!

wonderful hot spring pools. walking trail starts from the hotel. nice clean rooms. beautiful views from the rooftop. friendly staff.
great massage offered on site. possibly in the hot spring pool.
Many flies because of the agricultural activity in the vicinity.
Engine noise in the vicinity early morning when people go to Mt Batur, not an issue if you go as well.

These are lovely cabins that are well located for the sunrise trek, the supermarket and a few restaurants. The staff speak good English and organise the trek. Lovely thermal pool.

Beautiful, quirky, accomodation, located perfectly at the foot of Mount Batur, very short walk to lake Batur. Surrounded by lovely local warungs and little supermarkets. The staff at Manik Tirta were extraordinarily kind and helpful! Breakfasts simple, personalised and light belt. Just a great experience from all perspectives. Spotlessly clean and well tended! Can’t wait to go back, felt so welcome and at home

This was my second time staying here, and it was even more special than the first. The room was as clean, spacious, and comfortable as I remembered, and the location is ideal—quiet, but with everything I needed nearby.
What truly sets this place apart is the warmth of the hosts. They treated me like family—sharing meals, spending time together, and making me feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find that kind of connection when traveling.
I also loved having easy access to the nearby trailhead—went hiking there multiple times and it was the perfect way to unwind.
Staying here feels less like booking a room and more like being invited into someone’s home. I’m grateful for the experience and already looking forward to my next visit.

Best value money can buy!
Everything more would just raise the price and the basics are just good as they are.

Right in the bottom of Mt Batur for the sunrise hike. The couple can organise your guide. They are so down to earth, friendly and super helpful with whatever you need.
Clean, beautiful rooms. Hotspring pool in your front door. Yummy friend rice made in their kitchen. The couple do all the upkeep and has done amazingly 🤩
Flies. That’s a given in the area though. No biggie

We had a perfect four-night stay here. The family was warm and welcoming, always ready to help if we needed anything.
The rooms were clean and tidy, and the gardens beautifully maintained. We especially loved the thermal pools—some rooms even come with their own private ones!
Our massages with Kadek were fantastic, and we left feeling healthy, relaxed, and completely refreshed.
Each morning, we enjoyed delicious banana pancakes with our coffee—a lovely way to start the day.
Laundry was easy to arrange, and it’s just a short walk to nearby restaurants. The family can also help organise transport and tours to the mountains and other local attractions.
Highly recommended as a lovely place to stay—excellent value for money!

I had a fantastic stay! The room was spacious, very clean, and well-equipped with everything I needed. The bed was super comfortable, and the space felt welcoming and well cared for.
The location is excellent—close to shops and restaurants, yet still quiet and relaxing.
What really stood out were the hosts. They were incredibly kind and hospitable, making me feel right at home. I truly appreciated their warmth and attention to detail.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

bed was comfortable, take the flashlight to go to dinner. several options nearby but do not expect something fancy. the road noise is constant throw night. thanks god, our accommodation is not on the main road. but still traffic. if you anyway have a plan to go to the sunrise hike, you have to get up about 3:30. that was incredible, was the hot water pool and same natural hot water from shower. flies in April were not too annoying. the sunrise hike was very satisfied. take time up there on the mountain top wall and make the pictures.
first to mention is undrinkable coffee - bring your own. also be good idea to make your own tea/coffee before hiking. the guide, that was provided from hotel (no need to prebook) do not provide any hot drinks, also 1 bottle of water you have to carry up by yourself. guide offered on top only dry white bread slices (no butter, salt), 1 cold boiled egg and small bananas. 350000 per person. the hardest way up is much shorter and not too hard. we are 55-60 years office-based employees and went up with 1,5 hours. down we game with easiest way and it took more than 2 hours. bring the sun blocker. the village around is dusty and nothing to look at. fancy restaurants and viewpoints around 10-15 km.

Great location, close to eateries and shops. Well-kept garden. Great-sized natural hot pool. The owner is very friendly, honest and helped us with our inquiries. Good value for money.
There were a group of other guests who were doing karaoke from the moment they arrived (2pm) all the way until 10:30pm. This group brought their massive speaker and their karaoke kit and set it up by the pool. Apparently it is a common thing around the area, not just at this hotel. Even after they stopped their karaoke session, they still laughing and screaming in the pool til midnight. Our family left early the next day because at 7:30 am this other group started setting up their speaker again and played their music. It was very unfortunate as the place was so lovely and the quietness was ruined by other guests who can’t respect other guests.

Manik Tirta Cabin’s offers an ideal retreat for mountain enthusiasts and those seeking relaxation at nearby attractions like Toya Devasya hot springs. The cabin features a delightful hot pool, complementing the breathtaking mountain view. While the rooms are simple, they provide ample comfort, and the overall experience is a great value for money. Manik and his wife, the welcoming hosts, go the extra mile to ensure guests feel at home, making this cabin a charming and affordable choice for a memorable stay in the heart of nature.

The cabins are situated right at the start of the Mt Batur hike so they are really well located. We arrived the day before and hiked Mt Batur the next morning. Our guide met us directly at the hotel and we made our way from there on foot. The hotel organised a local guide and we were very happy with the service and price.
The hotel has a food menu or you can eat at multiple warungs close by. There are a lot of reviews that mention flys in the area… and they are a nuisance as they try to eat more of the food than you do! My suggestion is eat a good lunch before arrival in Kintamani and then eat later at the hotel (say after 7pm). There are much less flies at night time and we had no problem with them at all in our cabin - just earlier in the day, particularly when eating.
We left for our hike at c. 3.30am and returned c. 7.30am. This was noted as the “short” hike costing 300k IDR pp, and included the hike ticket, guide and breakfast on top of Mt Batur. You could also opt for a “medium” or “long” hike and these cost more and will take longer. We were happy with the short version to avoid hiking too late in the morning. The guide provided flashlights as it’s pitch black at that time of the morning.
Consider what clothes to bring. You will get warm hiking up to the top (1717m), but bring warm clothes as it’s cold at 1700m at 5am in the dark! Sunrise started around 6am so you have about an hour to wait. Suggest long pants and a t-shirt for hiking up, jacket/fleece for the top. You can also rent blankets at the top. We like to hike regularly so we wore hiking shoes but many people wore running shoes. Personally think hiking shoes are better for grip on this hike. The guide will go at your pace so don’t worry. It’s really enjoyable and the sunrise is spectacular!
The grounds and cabins are very well maintained and the owners take pride in its appearance. Bed was comfortable in the cabin and we slept well.

This is such a beautiful idyllic place nearby the volcano Mount Batur. You can start your climb at the hotel. The swimming pool is like heaven within a beautiful garden. We stayed here 3 nights and enjoyed the surroundings. The owners are super friendly, very helpful and great assistance for the climb, renting scooters.
