The room was exceptionally clean and tidy. The heating was working very well, which is always a must with winter stays. My favourite thing about the room was definitely the bathroom — very cosy, and with a permanently heated hot water vent imbedded into the bathtub. For a room with a single bed, the room was very spacious, feeling like a real home. The staff was friendly and very helpful with requests, such as asking for an extra pillow/duvet. Breakfast was definitely a highlight as well, with enough variety to suit everyone. The breakfast room is decorated very nicely and tastefully, there are great selections for tea and coffee. Overall, a lovely and comfortable experience for anyone looking to stay in Baden Baden on a budget.
If you don’t have a car and wish to go to the city centre often during you stay, it might be a problem: there is only one consistent bus line, which comes once every hour, and after 19:30 there are no more buses back or to the city, so you have to call a taxi. Before my booking I definitely underestimated the location distance and connections between the hotel and the city, so this information would have been helpful to know beforehand. However, it shouldn’t be a problem if you plan your time well, and don’t mind the waiting times. You are also close to the Black Forest, and there are many lovely hiking trails around.

The rooms were exactly as expected, clean, comfortable and exuding Black Forest charm. Be sure to try the wonderful and always busy restaurant downstairs! If you don't speak German you can get by with English.
A minor quibble, the last morning when we were in a rush the breakfast was not out at the usual 7 am. It did not take long for the staff to complete set up. We enjoyed another traditional breakfast and were on our way!

Excellent accommodation and food, very helpful and attentive staff. Have stayed there before this visit and would always choose this accommodation if staying in the area in future.

The staff were very kind and the property was charming in traditional German flavor. We arrived on Easter Sunday after booking one day prior and only speak English. The staff suggested that we make dinner reservations in the dining room and we enjoyed the delicious food and lovely ambience. We enjoyed the balcony and nearby bus stops and hiking to a waterfall. We spent the day in Leopoldsplatz and it was amazing.
We prefer a softer mattress but the mattress was firm, oh well. When we asked the staff for thicker pillows he immediately handed my husband a key to get some out of another (unused) guest room. Because it is a guest house it has a small staff and a homey, cozy environment. Be sure to push the buttons to turn on lights in the hallways so you are not walking into darkness. We would highly recommend anyway because travel is about new experiences!

The breakfast room was elegantly furnished and the breakfast food was very healthy with really good coffee. We ate in the Restaurant at lunch time when we arrived and the food was outstanding as was the ambience of the room. The bedroom was very large with nice chairs and the bed was extremely comfortable. A very lovely place to stay.
Absolutely nothing

Loved the rolladen and quiet location. Room was very spacious, clean and with thoughtful amenities. Very comfortable bedding. Onsite parking and restaurant.
Former smokers leave window and/or door to balcony open and room tends to smell of smoke. Would be great if they restricted smoking.

Nice location.
The pillows were super uncomfortable. Those were the traditional German pillows which are very soft and gigantic.
