The Major Oak Lodge with Hot Tub

Good location, accessible and restaurant on site with delicious food and reasonably priced. It’s great to relax with friends and I loved seeing all the rabbits running around.

The place could’ve been a bit cleaner, we couldn’t use the outside seating as it was mouldy and wet, the hot tub jets didn’t have much pressure and could’ve been cleaner. The shower also had some problems but was usable.

Quiet, spacious, clean

Email communication was good but we didnt receive the final access email in time for the site office closure. fortunately the manager was just locking up so was granted access. If we had missed the manager it would of been difficult to gain access.

Lovely decor, warm great tv and cooking facilities

My only niggle is the previous guests had not cleaned the cooking equipment, therefore we did.

Thanks to the professionalism of the receptionist, we were upgraded to a gold standard lodge. The staff were helpful and listened to our concerns.

The Major Oak Lodge with Hot Tub was an absolute disgrace. I would never book it again. The place was absolutely filthy. The hot tube seating area was dirty and covered in mould. Seating broken. They had to cheek to charge £200 deposit as a damage waiver. The place was a mess, and to be honest, not fit for human habitation. We were told you have booked a bronze lodge. There was no mention of this in the booking. This is the lowest and cheapest lodge, and to be honest, It shouldn't be on a 5* site. The pictures of the outside were nothing like advertised. Unless this place is cleaned and refreshed, it should not be advertised for rental. Absolute disgrace.... If it wasn't for the professionalism of the receptionist, we would have driven back home.
