A bit of a mixed review on this one. First of all can I say how beautiful the lodges are, we have visited this site twice now and have always been pleased at the cleanliness and how well presented the place is. We first visited the lodges for my birthday last year where we stayed for a full weekend, again very impressed with the lodges. We paid the £200 security deposit which was refundable if the lodge was left how we found it (should get back within 10 days). I waited and waited and still the money didn’t return to my account. I called and called the site but they didn’t pick up the phone, I messaged them through booking.com and left emails and unfortunately the only help I got was that “it should have gone back into my account and to contact the bank” the money left my balance and went into pending, after the lodge releases the money the transaction then should then go back on my balance - however mine didn’t, so the bank could see it leaving my account but there was no trace of it after that. It was an ongoing issue for a few weeks but the customer service this site provided was not helpful at all. This year we really wanted to go back due to how much we loved the lodge itself and we thought maybe it was a one off bad experience. The staff are helpful in sending out automatic emails of how to get into the lodge/how to check out etc but any enquiries or if you needed to contact reception then it was virtually impossible. I contacted the lodge 2 weeks prior to our stay to ask if we could pay the £20 to have a late check out which was sent out in an automatic email. I still have not received a reply to this day. My partner rang them on multiple occasions to ask to pay the fee and they once again they didn’t answer their phones. Once we got to the lodge we went to the reception to see if we could pay it there and then and we were told that unfortunately we were too late it was already full.
