Such a beautiful quiet villa. Very clean and comfortable. All rooms were large, with a TV, large bathroom and separate toilet. Serenity sitting outside at night listening to the wildlife and flowing water from the rice fields.

Nothing really, needing a scooter/car ride to get to the Center of Ubud for the bigger restaurants but there were a few smaller cafes close which were nice too.

Our stay at Joy Boutique Villa Ubud was wonderful and one we won’t forget. The villa itself is beautiful — peaceful, stylish and perfectly designed to relax and unwind. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the pool quickly became a favourite place. One of the standout features was the dedicated yoga and massage area, which created such a calming atmosphere throughout our stay. Having the massage therapist visit daily from Ayu Spa Ubud was such a luxury and genuinely elevated the whole experience. The location was also fantastic, with so many amazing coffee and food options within easy walking distance. Some of our favourites included: • Coffee To Go Kecil (200m) — our daily coffee stop with excellent coffee, delicious breakfast options and genuinely beautiful staff who made every visit enjoyable. Instagram: @coffeetogokecil • Qebic Cafe (400m) — a fantastic cafe for meals and drinks with great quality food, coffee and warm, welcoming service. Instagram: @qebiccafe • Norii Japanese (450m) — beautiful Japanese food, elegant presentation and a lovely atmosphere for dinner. Instagram: @norii.ubud • Orchid Duck (500m) — one of the standout dining experiences of our trip, with incredible food, stunning surroundings and exceptional staff. Instagram: @theorchidduck • Beehouse Restaurant (650m) — a beautiful spot overlooking the rice fields with delicious food and a relaxed atmosphere. Instagram: @beehouseubud A very special thank you to Zolo and all of the staff, who made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. Their kindness and hospitality made the stay even more memorable. We also really appreciated Zolo's great network of local drivers, which made all of our trips into Ubud incredibly easy and stress-free. If you’re looking for a peaceful, boutique villa experience in Ubud with beautiful facilities, dedicated yoga and massage area and incredible cafes and restaurants nearby, we would highly recommend Joy Boutique Villa.

The only small downsides for us were that the kitchen area felt a little tired compared to the rest of the villa, and unlike some other villas we’ve stayed in previously, there is no 24-hour security on-site — just something worth being aware of when booking. We were a group of five and found the outdoor couch area perfect for our stay, however as the villa accommodates up to 10 guests across five bedrooms, additional outdoor lounge seating would make the shared spaces even more comfortable for larger groups.

This property is absolutely stunning. Everything has been thought about. The 5 bedrooms. The outdoor living space. The fact that there are sunbeds for everyone. It should be noted that it’s a 30-minute walk into downtown Ubud - which suited us. But there are some great places to eat a few minutes walk away - overlooking gorgeous rice paddies. And the tiny coffee to go kecil at the end of the lane to the villa is outstanding for breakfast. When we did want to go further afield, I hired a van for the 7 of us via Wira - who was also amazing.
