Chamberlain House - 3 bedroom house by Manly beach

A fantastic location. Easy walk to the beach and a short drive to the shops. House was clean and tidy.

Couldn't find a TV channel and there were no tea towels, but we just got our own and left it there. This is not a complaint. Just a note.

The house was basic but comfortable, was generally clean throughout but we suffered with ants every day of our stay in the kitchen. No matter how much I cleaned it. The WiFi code given didn't work, I messaged the property owner every day of our stay about this but no communication was received.

Great location. Well stocked kitchen. Loved the backyard patio.

The only down side is the only bathroom was upstairs

Disappointing Stay – Not As Advertised We unfortunately had to leave after just one night due to the unsatisfactory condition of the property. Upon arrival, we found the property to be quite dirty, and we struggled to get in contact with the owners to address our concerns. The steep stairwell is a major hazard, particularly for elderly guests, and there is no bathroom on the ground floor. The shower was dangerously slippery with no non-slip mat provided. The “games room” was a significant letdown, as it was not part of the house and looked nothing like the pictures. The trampoline, which was supposedly for children, was situated near a compost pile, which did not seem safe or hygienic. In terms of amenities, we had to go to the supermarket to buy clean paper plates, as everything in the kitchen felt unclean. We also found extra sheets to cover the couches, which were in poor condition. The property was equipped with only two mismatched wine glasses, and the TV had sticky marks on it, prompting us to purchase cleaning spray. The air conditioning unit had visible black mold, and the curtains were affected as well. The BBQ was dirty and in need of a thorough cleaning. Old food left in the fridge. We had expected a much higher standard, given the property’s description and images. There are certainly many other cleaner and better-maintained places available, and we would not recommend this property based on our experience. Only allowed to post 4 photos.

Great size and easy to Access

Was in a good location but the travel in and Out of the peninsula to other Auckland attractions was a bit repetitive

Quiet place

Loved having the three bedrooms for our family to spread out and a self catering kitchen. The bathroom was excellent. Kids loved the games room. It was a small walk to the beach and there was a big park across the fence.

Unfortunately the king bed was very uncomfortable and the furniture in the lounge is pretty old and past its best re comfort. Needed a way to hang wet clothes inside eg drying racks. Both kids got folliculitis from the spa so some better water treatment is needed there please. The bus that goes past regularly is very loud and literally shakes the house as do bigger cars with boats. Windows are single glazed and rubber seals pretty much gone, so a lot of breeze getting in.

BUNK BEDS WERE VVERY UNCOMFORTABLE, HAUR DRYER DIDNT WORK.

It was clean and big, kids enjoyed the games room adn spa

The tv wouldnt work, so kids were bored and they werent very helpful

Location was great excellent, so close to the beach!! The house was very well equipped.

Just a suggestion, maybe a bin in the bathroom for tissues and facial wipes. Not a problem but there seemed to be an electric problem when the light was off in the bedroom downstairs and somebody walked in the bedroom upstairs, the light flickered. Just for your information.

2min walk to the beach. The spa pool was a delight. The home was comfortable the children loved it :)

There was a little bit of an off smell out by the clothesline area, so we pretty much stayed away from that space.

Very spacious for 4 people, and the bathroom was nice and modern. The hosts were friendly and helpful, especially when we got locked out. The spa pool was a nice bonus. Highly recommend for those wanting to stay on the Whangaparāoa peninsula.

No major issues - locks on doors are sometimes automatic so future guests need to make sure they don't get locked out accidently.

5 mins walk to the beach. Excellent.

Not a biggie but tap in the kitchen is loose. No hooks in the bathroom to hang up your towels or bath robe. No rubbish bin in the bathroom or toliet. No soap in the shower just a mens body wash.
