Do not book this or anything managed by Four Seasons hotel.

We didn’t get to stay in the property we booked because it was double booked for the first night. We were given alternative accommodation and offered the chance to move on the second night. The property is managed by a hotel Four Seasons in Aberystwyth. We went to look at this property and firstly the pool is FREEZING - unusable and the only reason we booked the property. It is leaking and being constantly filled up with a hose pipe from the garden. The rest of the property is in need of refurbishment. Overpriced.

Awful booking system. Freezing cold pool. Property is run down, broken window, needs to be fully refurbished and repaired. To top it all off our son left his Nintendo switch in the property, as soon as we realised (a few hours after we left) my brother went back to collect it for us and it was gone. The cleaners had been in and the hotel completely denied any wrongdoing even though we could see that there was an attempted new log in on the device. When the hotel spoke to their electrician he was even heard saying “well the cleaners obviously took it”. Reported it to the police but know nothing can/will be done. No offers of compensation from the hotel even though it is clear what happened.

booked the holiday and he had booked someone else in ,this is the 3rd time this has happened, before I was unpacking and someone else turned up to stay ,he has a no care attitude ,he seriously needs to sort out booking ppl in at same time

Disappointing

When we reported the broken lock on the main bathroom door to the guy who came to maintain the pool and hot tub, he very quickly added a lock for us. * location is good - convenient for Aberystwyth and other local attractions. Close to the village shop and to a nice walk along the river. * Sauna was working and very nice. * Gas BBQ is a great addition. * Washing machine, tumble dryer and dish washer were really useful. * Air hockey in the games room was good fun. * There are some nice complimentary toiletries provided. * The bungalow is nice and spacious and the decor in the rooms is pleasant. We enjoyed the reclining sofa chairs. From having now read other reviews, I think the decor has been updated since previous comments were made. There are blinds and curtains in the bedrooms so the rooms were not too light at night time.

* Property is advertised as a 5 bed property but it wasn't clear on arrival which was the sofa bed and there was no bedding for it anyway. In the booking details it doesn't state that we have to request bedding for the 5th bedroom, and this did disrupt our planned sleeping arrangements. * The pool room leaks when it rains. We had to move the seats and table around as we were getting wet indoors. * The hot tub and pool were not clean when we arrived, with the hot tub a particularly disgusting colour. However someone did arrive and sorted that an hour or so after our arrival * There was a hole in the swimming pool which the owner later told me he was already aware of as he informed me a previous guest had made it with a knife. We were unaware of the hole on arrival and were told by the maintenance guy to fill the water up to the correct level, but of course it leaked and the weight of the escaping water caused the lining of the pool to fall off of sides of pool. * The leak meant we couldn't get the water level high enough to go through the filter; this meant the pool was unheated and unfiltered for the duration of our stay. On reading the previous occupant's review, it seems this was the same for their stay too. * We reported the situation to the maintenance guy on the Monday but heard nothing further. Concerned that the pool wouldn't be fixed for the next occupants either, and unhappy with the H&S aspect of the water, (which got very green during our stay despite us using the pool cover) we reported the situation to the local authority. After an officer from the LA got in touch with the owner he arrived (on the Thursday) to apologise and inform us that someone would be coming out to fix the pool, the following day after we left. He offered us a discount on our next booking by way of an apology, I informed him that we wouldn't be back.

Maintenance needed

Located in a lovely little village very close to Aberystwyth. Nice walks with the dogs along the cycle path next to the river. Secure garden for the dogs. Private pool, hot tub and sauna.

The cottage itself was ok, could do with some updating but was good enough for our 5 days there. Unfortunately, since we visited last year the facilities have become worn and in desperate need of repair. The lining of the pool was loose, water level low but worst of all it didn't seem to have the filter system working to clean the pool. The hot tub water didn't look very clean either. All the family were suffering some sort of illness by midweek, eye infection, rash, stomache cramps and diarrhea. Won't be going back.

Family Easter hokiday

I booked this bungalow for a family Easter holiday,the house was spacious,large comfy bedrooms,everything we needed was there. The children loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Great location the local village shop sold a great stock of items.The hoist was available on the phone when needed.We will most definitely be returning,hopefully this summer

booked this as was looks perfect for a 2 family’s and 4 kids. but as we got there it was terrible! pool table - was broken swimming pool - is soo cold and was unusable hot tub - was broken and couldn’t be used at all sauna - again broken and unusable called the owner - didn’t seem to care it’s a lot of many to pay for everything not to work, was very disappointed but looking at the reviews now a lot of people have had the same problems-

I invited my friends from different cities and I was so embarrassed the hot tub didn’t work and no one sort this issue for us .I payed full amount to use all the facilities and I think in this cold weather the most important thing is hot tub to use as we didn’t have that one.the owner supposed to call and sort that issue and he never did.never come back again

good for the price we paid if I’d paid anymore I would have been vastly disappointed

the potential facilities are amazing if working. the sauna and hot tub wasn’t working and management did not seem interested, we got this for a good price otherwise would have been vastly disappointed the pool is it’s saving grace as it’s fantastic. I messaged with all the issues like the broken kettle but got zero response, should have been more forceful. CHECK EVERYTHING ON ARRIVAL

needs someone to spend a couple of weeks fixing issues, hot tub wasn’t working, sauna tripped electrics, pool room has broken windows you cannot close, pool cues ALL broken, needs some much needed TLC throughout which is a shame as has huge potential

Great family holiday

Great facilities at the property. Really liked the fact they provided towels. Large secure garden at the rear for our little dog. Large smart tv in every bedroom. There a good little shop around the corner and a pub.

All these things didn't effect our holiday. There was no instructions for recycling. The lock on main bathroom door doesn't lock. Some of the blinds on the windows were missing. The windows were single panel and were full of condensation every morning.

Superb

Everything you need for a getaway. Nice size pool, loved the hot tub and sauna and the games room was a pleasant surprise- perhaps a bit tight to play pool comfortably but still enough to provide entertainment. Beds comfy , showers with good flow washing machine dryer and iron as well as a spacious fridge/freezer The host contacted us prior to arrival and was available if needed. Overall had a great time.

Many things were broken, including WiFi. Hot tub got very cloudy because not enough chlorine was in it, owner came and looked and just said it was okay. Garden was in need of some TLC.

Would love to come again!

The accommodation was very comfortable, and the pool, hot tub and sauna were fantastic extras! The location was really good as we were in a country village but not too far from the coast and Aberyswyth and all the shopping available there. The house was really clean upon arrival, spacious yet cosy. Thanks for giving us this amazing break.

The photos are misleading - this is a very dirty house, and the swimming pool is no better

The village was lovely

First impressions were that the bungalow was run down - even from the outside. Front and back garden areas overgrown and clearly not looked after. Windows inside and out (frames and glass) really dirty and had obviously not been cleaned in some time. Majority of furniture in the property was cheap/old/damaged, stains/damage on most carpets. There was a smell of damp throughout and could be seen on some walls (e.g. the hallway, some bedrooms). The 2 bedrooms nearest the swimming pool were terrible - extremely damp, poorly decorated and furnished -the beds in these rooms were very uncomfortable. These rooms had the worst damp - you could see it everywhere, The main reason for booking the property was for the pool - it was such a disappointment and in my view should not be used. The entire pool area was dirty and old - the building structure was falling apart, window fittings broken, floor very dirty, pool cover had green slime/mould round the edges. The hot-tub and sauna were in the garden and again neither were very appealing - wasn't helped by how awful the garden was. In summary the whole property needs a lot of fundamental work doing, a massive deepclean, redecoration and all new fixtures, fittings and furniture.

Overall a great stay in a bungalow which has very good facilities but could do with some updating.

Nice secluded location, great for a relaxing break. The hot tub, sauna and pool were excellent. Bungalow was spacious for 8 guests.

The one bedroom near the swimming pool was prone to a build up of condensation, which was quite bad on the walls at times. The patio door on on that bedroom also didn't lock.

Friends weekend away to relax

The bedding was clean and comfortable and the towels were nice.

The house the pool and outbuildings e.g the sauna we're all dirty. The hot tub foamed which wasn't suggestive of good cleanliness. The freezer was nasty. We were horrified how filthy it all was. The pool area was damaged with weeds growing through inside and up the windows outside. There was hair gathered on the side of the pool and just left and that's disgusting. We were concerned for our health.
