The Shieling comfortably accommodated our family of five, including three extra guests for Christmas day. The open plan kitchen and sitting room, together with the adjoining conservatory meant there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out.
The kitchen was particularly well equipped with plenty of good quality dinnerware, cooking pans, and utensils to produce the Christmas dinner- and even included a Nespresso coffee machine!
The house was always warm and welcoming, especially when coming back from some fabulous walks in the winter weather outside.
Alnmouth, Warkworth, and Amble are all a short 15 minute drive away, offering beaches, working harbours, and many good pubs and restaurants etc. The Fish Shack on the quayside in Amble is particularly good for seafood.
There was nothing not to like.

a good location for exploring the area. Good parking. Close to alnwick.
could not open half of the windows in the property. window keys missing. made the premises difficult to keep cool. the small conservatory was too hot to use when the sun was intense.

Very clean and spacious. Well equipped, plenty of crockery and cutlery. Very quiet location. The bird song was spectacular.
A shower in the family bathroom would have been nice as well as in the ensuite.

We loved the location of the house. The layout of the house was great and it had everything that we needed. Richard is an awesome host.
There was nothing that we did not like.
