Excellent Comfy Stay

Lovely cottage surrounded by nice views. Extremely comfortable beds and very quiet considering next to a road. We were staying to attend a family party but being originally from Newcastle I know this cottage is perfectly located for seeing all the sights and loveliness of the North East. If shopping is your thing the Metro Centre is 10 minutes away. A large supermarket is also 5 minutes from the cottage along with copious amounts of restaurants and takeaways. We will definitely stay again!

A perfect base for families

Comfortable and clean property which was equipped with everything you could need. Beautiful setting that feels very rural but amenities are easily accessible. We'll definitely return!

I would certainly stay here again if I had to.

The cottage was really great. Lovely decor, good location. Easy access to Newc and easy access to family nearby. It was right next to a main road but we didn't hear any traffic. It had a really comfortable layout and the 2 large sofa's in the lounge room were great. Plenty to watch on TV.

I seemed to have been given one code on one email and then another on a different email. So it was a bit of a pain. But I realised after about 10mins. I tried to call the owner but no reply. I had to go around turning on and fiddling with the central heating so that was a bit annoying.

Absolutely perfect! Spacious, very well equipped, helpful owners, perfect location with beautiful views from most windows. Couldn’t have been any happier staying in this wonderful cottage. Thank you so much xxx

Superb

Great location with good facilities, lovely welcome pack of wine biscuits and fresh milk in the fridge 🙂. Clean and comfortable cottage close to Tanfield railway and Beamish museum.

Minor issue for my elderly father entering the front door, climbing front steps, a handrail would be a helpful addition to assist those visitors with mobility issues

Nice, quiey place when you live in the city where there is let's if noise and rush

The place is very nice, peaceful. Kids had a great time, nice scenery. We will definitely be coming back when it's winter so we can use the fire place. Host made it easy for us to communicate with her should we need anything.

Fabulous!!

The hosts were lovely and happy to help - for example, we got lost finding the place and they were just a phone call away. Lots of lovely little touches like the wine and a birthday card as we were celebrating during our trip. Brilliant that they had thought about things we might need like soap, wood for the log burner, washing up liquid and so on - things so often overlooked by some places were all provided. The area was lovely and we loved watching the train go by. Close to Newcastle, Beamish, the Angel of the North. Lots of takeaways nearby (Namaste is a must!) We will definitely visit again in future!

Shower in the shower room rather weak and could benefit from a pumped supply but not really an issue.
