Exactly what we wanted for our weekend

Location was good for what we wanted, breakfast was cooked nice and fresh and Donald the host had some excellent stories.

Good B&B.

The B&B was in a lovely quiet area , near the town centre & shops, bus & train station not to fat away if you want to explore areas , friendly people in town , The host Donald was lovely, full of local knowledge & great at making you feel welcome. , lovely breakfast, rooms kept cleaned,

The shower was a bit of a tight squeeze,& water pressure was not too good ,but still usable .

An ideal place for our stay in Elgin

It was easy to find and in a good location . It was clean and felt homely . The room was as the photos showed . Donald made us feel very welcome . We enjoyed hearing about his Boxing Days .

Enjoyable Stay

A lovely, squeaky-clean, quiet, 1st floor, B&B Double Room with comfortable bed & very good wifi. Though the room was small (as indicated in the description) it lacked nothing – host Donald, has put in thought & effort to ensure guest/s comfort. Donald was a very hospitable, friendly & interesting host & provided a delicious breakfast. On-street car-parking or paid car-park immediately opposite the property. Walking distance from Elgin town centre. Would recommend.

The shower & toilet was quite small but manageable & matched the size of room advised in the description.

A friendly home from home

The B&B was about 20 minutes walk from the station, but easy to find and very near the Abbey and shops. We were able to leave our bags until official check-in time, giving us the freedom to explore the Abbey and surroundings. The very cheerful host prepared breakfast and we had great conversations about sport, boxing in particular, since he was a Scottish champion and is engaged in the life of the town! The room was small and cluttered but very clean and quiet and had a good feeling of homely character. There was a pub down the road with friendly staff and which served a good evening meal.

Breakfast was good. The finding of the place was not as good as expected and the maps system could get within about 50 yards on the wrong road.

Donald was the most accommodating host I have ever come across on my travels. Absolute gentleman. Great place to stay and a lovely breakfast at a negotiated time to suit.

That bad didn’t stay

Disgusting not clean like a jumble sale outside. Waited 30 min for someone to open up to let us in. We seen the room and left not clean dirty ear buds hairs all over shower

Brilliant and very homely.

Beautiful and homely Bed and Breakfast. Excellent location for all amenities etc Breakfast is great just enough. A great host very accommodating and excellent knowledge of the area and surroundings, and with brilliant stories of old and new. Have stayed twice now and without a doubt stay again. Definitely recommend to family and friends. Thank you so much.

A host with a terrible attitude in a dated and cluttered B&B

The host was appalling including swearing and having a poor attitude when they had made an error and tried to shift the blame. Whatever you do, don’t be late for your allotted breakfast time even by a few minutes or the host will be up chapping your door. If you have a choice, choose somewhere that’s better value for money and where you’re not treated like you’re at boot camp.

Donald’s B&B is a friendly, cosy place to stay and he is a very friendly host.

The bathroom facilities are rather cramped. Our breakfast eggs were rather undercooked (my scrambled egg was so wet it turned the toast under it to pulp!

Left to stand outside for 20 mins before the door was opened. Lookked like they were having a yard sale outside the front door with kitchen knivies all the way behind the garden wall(is the neighbourhood that bad). Small cramped room, not the double room booked. Carpet not cleaned, blinds stained badly, towels thread bare. Dirty marks on the walls. Bed might have been clean but did not feel like it, slept in my clothes. Horrible experience.

One night was enough

The proprietor sourced breakfast items to cater for my dietary requirements. He saved a parking space outside the property for us. The bed linen was clean. The hearty breakfast gave us a good start to the day.

It was cluttered and the facilities were basic. The water pressure in the shower was absolutely terrible, so it was impossible to take a quick shower. The sink was in the bedroom and the door to the shower room was not a solid door. I would recommend ear plugs as the walls are thin and the traffic is constant.

Perfect location in Elgin

Super homely b&b ,only 3 rooms. Excellent location near the centre of Elgin, museum (100 yds) and cathedral very close (across main road). Access via one-way system around council offices. Wetherspoons 300yds away. Parking available across the road, normally spaces available after 6pm. Breakfast very good. Excellent friendly owner. Superb base for over 20 nearby golf courses (only managed to play 10!)
