Hassop Station Apartment on the Monsal Trail

Flat was in a great location for Bakewell and proximity to the Monsal trail and having the cafe so close was great. Apartment was a good size for a short stay.

Building work was going on next door while we were staying which was noisy (and we hadn't been prewarned). While there is parking available, on a busy Saturday/Sunday getting a space was a challenge. The kitchen light was on a motion activated sensor and kept randomly going on during the night, which woke up the person sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room (as no door between kitchen and living room). There was no info about what to do with bins etc on leaving.

Great location for the Monsal Trail - didn’t need car for 5 days! Also good location for Hassop Station cafe.

Location - it’s right next to a very busy A road with lots of early morning lorry traffic and no secondary glazing on sash windows. Kitchen is not well equipped - no scales, measuring jug, scissors, sharp knives. Fridge had a load of out of date milk sachets in it. Shower hose hadn’t been cleaned in a long time and loads of black gunk on it. Apartment needed a good clean/dust as well.

Very dog friendly. Helpful staff and good facilities.

Minor, but could have done with a cafetiere for coffee making.

Nice location and terrace

We’ve booked a room for 3 people. Once we’ve moved in, we have realised that the room is missing 3rd set of linen, towels and pillow - only duvet was available. We immediately informed the owner but received no linen for the first night. Next morning we saw a cleaner and asked them to give us a set - as we were in the rush, we didn’t have time to wait so we just asked for a linen. We did expect towels to just be given later, as we have left for the whole day but no one checked how many sets of what we actually have - hence, we never had a third set of towels and the third set of pillows. Additionally, on our second night we’ve noticed a lot of bugs in our room. Most of them were on the floor of the rooms and the shower, but one was in the cupboard with the mugs! As it was past 10pm and it was our last night, we didn’t think about texting or taking any pictures - no one responded or did anything in the day, what are the chances issues are going to be resolved in the middle of the night? We’ve been declined any compensation unfortunately. The price point is really what’s concerning there - have we paid £50 per night, these issues would have been at least explainable. But we’ve paid a price of a hotel room in zone 1 London with literally no basic service.
