Decent low-cost to stopover for a night if passing through the area

Very spacious suite, as name suggests just next to the chateau. Hosts were welcoming and helpful.

Very dated decor, slightly bizarre arrangement with toilet at one end of the suite near the door and bathroom with bidet next to bedroom! Valançay itself was a bit of a ghost town when we were there, the two restaurants recommended by host were closed. Pizza was the only option.

A perfect welcoming B&B to visit the Loire châteaux

A huge apartment with all facilities in a central quiet location, perfect to visit Valençay château. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with home made jam, cake and yoghurts. The owner took the time to talk to us at length and made us feel very welcome. It was good to have a secure and free parking . We would definitely recommend to stay in Aux portes du château if you visit the area

Quirky original style with a helpful hostess in an ideal location.

The woman running the place was very pleasant and helpful. The location beside Chateau Valecay was ideal, as we were visiting it. The curious style of the building and quirky furniture were likable. Really lovely garden. Spacious room.

Small suggestion here: It's silly not to have a clearly signposted bell on the front door if you are locking that door and there's no one around. We had driven for six hours to get there. The bell was small and unmarked and we missed it. Not a big thing but irritating. I could have done without an attempted lecture about how obvious the bell was by the man who eventually heard us banging on the window. A patronising little finger wagging isn't my favourite greeting when I arrive. But we got over that very quickly. To emphasise; the woman running the place was great.

A charming base from which to explore the local chateaux.

A good breakfast with homemade banana cake.

The entrance is a little off putting as the brown gates give you no idea of the beautiful garden courtyard and buildings that await you.

Lovely place close to the Chateau.

Impressive decoration and renovated buildings, long beds quite comfy for people with back issues, very nice host. Very nice and big bathroom with shower, bath, and two sinks. Homemade breakfast desserts, good breakfast, everything fresh and good quality. Hairdryer in the room.

Walls are quite thin, we could hear people next doors. Only one big towel per person and one tiny towel for the hands/face to share. No fridge.

Bathroom spacious and nice but had only an ill-fitting door curtain, not a door, and the tall window had netting only on the lower half, so that with windows across the courtyard it felt somewht exposed.

Ths is a nice B&B right in front of the castle. The room was big, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast included.

So good we booked a second night straight away... just gorgeous newly re opened after renovation and new owners... our room was a great mix of of what I would call art decko with blush pink duel sink bath bidet shower and separate WC. Amazing balcony dog friendly for very little extra... lovely owners who have kept some of the old world charm... gorgeous grounds amazing parking and a lovely town Great buffet breakfast with home made yoghurts cake jams plus charcuterie and patisserie Huge room with a lovely living room area lovely chairs and lovely bedding x

Un ancien relais châteaux très bien entretenu, décor de charme avec des touches vintage, Très bon petit déjeuner avec des produits maison : confitures, gateaux, yaourts... Proximité immédiate du château !!! On y est allés à pied pour un événement nocturne

Excellent emplacement juste à côté du château de valençay. Idéal pour la visite Accueil remarquable avec beaucoup d’attention. Nous nous sommes sentis chez nous. Petit déjeuner pantagruélique avec spécialités locales. Avec 4 enfants et 1 chien, l’accueil était délicat est adapté à chacun. Établissement avec une histoire qui marque le visiteur

Le lieu vaut franchement le détour et le séjour peut se prolonger.

Un lieu atypique très agréable, particulièrement bien situé. Des hôtes charmants et plein d'attention, passionnés. Une chambre de 55 m2, ultra confortable et remarquable quant à sa décoration des années 60-70. Tout y est d'époque, mais dans un excellent état de conservation qui fait voyager dans le temps.

Endroit agréable pour savourer le petit déjeuner. Les propriétaires sont extrêmement sympathiques. La décoration de l'établissement est tout simplement magnifique par son style et son luxe.

Petit point à prendre en compte, il y a quelques escaliers mais c'est normal compte tenu du cadre de cet établissement. Surtout ne pas changer le charme et l'esprit de cette très belle demeure.
