Nice weekend in Burgundian Limburg

While our aim in Venlo was an exhibition at the Limburgs Museum, we went for location. Since Mr. Jigs...and in the end even our room...is facing the museum, it was our first choice. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, rooms as stated on the website (spacious, clean). No full breakfast option, but as mentioned to us at check-in: every morning fresh croissants, jam/cheese, fresh fruit and beverages (coffee, tea) included in the overnight stay ! Limited, but sufficient to us. Short walk from trainstation. Follow the mainstreet straight into the city centre with its shops, bars and restaurants.

Based upon the info on the site, we were aware of the rooms decor when we made our booking. So no discussion there. One might argue the rooms have a cold feel in the sence of decoration (or a lack off). And that only a glass wall separates shower & toilet from the living/bed area. Which in our opinion hotels should really reconsider. Something to do with privacy. A plasterboard wall can't be more expensive than glass, can it ? So whats the use of glass ? While we enjoyed our stay for sure...if we are to return to Venlo, it might just steer our preference towards another hotel !

Some small nice little attentions made it even better (coffee/croissants in the morning, popcorn on the bed, and because of carnaval some extra attention with baloons and glitter in the room

The location was perfect, it was walking distance to all the sites. The staff were all so so very friendly and accommodating!!! The beds were comfortable, too. We got croissants, fruits and coffee for breakfast - simple but enough to start a good day!

We would be happy for a fridge inside the room!!

It was central, the staff went above and beyond if you had any requests or questions. Staff were friendly and very quick service.

It was a perfect stay!

We liked everything! it’s not always easy to find a hotel room for a (young) family. Mr Jigs shows how every hotel should do this. rooms are spacious and clean and on ground level. The shower was perfect. Chromecast is available, so we could watch Netflix. the next day we had a simple but delicious breakfast (that’s included). We come back for sure!

I suppose Mr. Jigs is a wannabe modern discount hotel. Well done on all sides. The staff was very helpful, particularly to someone who has never stayed in Venlo before. No actual breakfast to speak of, although croissants, fruit and yoghurt were offered for free. No complaints. Location was great. The room was comfortable, the bar / cafe was equally welcoming. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Lovely people. The shower set-up is actually kind of amusing. It wasn't thought through, at least in the room I was staying in, which meant using extra towels to mop up the water. You'll see what I mean. All in all, a great stay and I will definitely go back.

Hotel was in a great location near to train Station and very central to the lovely town of Venlo

Location was excellent, friendly staff, good value for money, free breakfast was nice touch.

Only complaint would be that our ground floor end room was a bit noisy, bins where right outside window and staff used fire exit door.

Location was very good

The bathroom. When you take a shower the door doesn't close good so everything ends up wet, also the bathroom walls are glass so forget about privacy... The bed linings had something that for me was not good, because everytime we lied on the bed we could se a lot of particles of 'dust' or something floating in the air so at night I was coughing a lot I guess from breathing that...
