Not great im afraid.

Location was great kitchen great facilities ok in the apartment price is very reasonable.

When we checked in it was 6 at night the bed was covered in hair and stains the old bedding in a bag at the bottom of the bed we had to get somebody out to dress the bed the bed is very uncomfortable I couldn't sleep in it no grout in the floor tiles in the bathroom all round very tired looking needs a freshen up for definite.

Disappointing

The location and some elements of the property are finished to a high standard.

The check in and out time. We stay in many holiday let's throughout the year and I have never encountered a 5pm check in time. There was no flexibility for even one hour earlier. Not ideal after a long journey. Upon arrival at the property, the bed was unmade and from the look of the sheets I would say it had not been changed. Towels were in a heap in the corner of the bedroom, unwashed and still damp from whomever had used them. The main bedroom light did not work, so we had to rely on the small bedside lamp. Handles dropping off the bedside drawers and the bathroom in particular was finished to a low standard. Upstairs occupants we're extremely noisy and appeared to be moving furniture at around 6am. We have also never encountered a property that does not have at least one toilet roll to start you off at least or a tea towel to dry up after washing kitchen equipment. There were also no bin liners in the bins. We did wonder if the property had not been cleaned, why we could not check in until 5pm?

Great location, comfy flat for 2, good value for money but in need of a bit of tlc!

Great location, comfy flat, well equipped kitchen, good value for money. Generally a very lovely place to stay!

Check in time very late and check out time very early which was problematic. Also, property is a bit run down and needs a bit of tlc (handles coming off furniture, hooks falling off walls etc), there was no hairdryer and whenever people walk around in the flat upstairs it is very loud and disruptive.

Good location and price but just let down by the basics.

The location and price were good and the bathroom was clean.

The place felt damp/foisty especially bed linen. Stain on mattress protector. A broken glass left in cupboard and one of the folding chairs was broken. Old sausage rolls left in the microwave so clearly hadn’t been checked. Wardrobes were full of cleaning things that smelt so nowhere to hang clothes. No balcony furniture as pictured.

Location, bed, bathroom

Had to contact agent to find out how to get in. Agent gave us a code for the front door, but the keybox for the flat was not easily recognised. On Booking.com, it stated that keys would be available at reception. NO. Sink in bathroom drained very, very slowly. Kitchen tap moved every time you turned the tap on. There were 3 lights above the worktops in the kitchen area, only one worked. Shower screen did not fit properly, so water splashed all over the floor, soaking the bath mat. The grouting around the tiles was missing, most probable due to the water egress. Initially I thought that the grouting was dirty. Bedroom carpet needs cleaning on the traffic area between the kitchen and the bathroom. Front door lock needs to be looked at. you have to jiggle the key to get it in. Very poor maintenance, considering the basic state of the property.

Location

The smell of damp in the bedroom with damp patches on the wall behind the headboard and the mattress itself smelt damp. The headboard was broken on the bed. Several lights not working in the kitchen area of the flat and general poor maintenance of the property. The temperamental lock on the door which we had to call about as we couldn’t gain access to the property to for some time after arrival and was then very late to my daughter and son in laws 30th birthday celebrations.

What a amazing time we've had

Amazing place to stay, perfect for a couple for a short stay, clean and fresh. Perfect for both Bowness and Windermere quiet place but in the centre of everything. For our first holiday in 10 years without kids it was perfect the balcony in the afternoon gets the sun for just sitting and relaxing. My partner is having that it has a lake view it's a little bit through the trees, and it is only a 20 minute walk from the Jetty Museum we're you can spend the day paddle boarding and learning about the history of the lake. We had an amazing stay and will stay again if we could have stayed forever we would have. Perfect if like us you don't need a space for the car as it is central to everything. Watching the aeroplanes from the balcony is amazing.

Cosy little place

Nice little cosy place to stay. Great view from the balcony. Not far from the town. Perfect for a weekend away. Dispite the few issues overall we loved it here.

Couldn't park the car outside, luckily we did find a spot down a street opposite where we left the car all weekend. There is a carpark close by that charges. Mattress needs changing, it's not very comfortable. Frying pan and tray in oven was still dirty. Checking out was 9am......far too early. No option for a later check out.

Great cottage in a superb location

Stayed for 3 nights over New Year 24/25. Lovely apartment, just as described, great facilities, spotlessly clean, superb location, parking is easy to find close by. On bus routes for exploring. Handy for shops, bars restaurants & lake. Would probably stay again.

Be wary of the taps, strange set up seemed to be plumbed the wrong way. The mattress on the bed was way too soft for us. It felt like you were going to fall out. Maybe an upgrade to a new base & firmer mattress? 9.00am checkout bit early for us, 10.00am would be more reasonable.

Excellent location. Clean. Good kitchen facilities overall, but no basic provisions provided. Good shower and effective heating system.

- Grill tripped the power (no answer from support office but figured out how to reset from the consumer unit in the hall. Be aware if cooking, this may occur.) - No recycling bins! Please address this if nothing else. Those unable to take rubbish home (in their car) have no choice than to put recyclables in the general waste :( - No basics at all (tea, coffee, paper towels, not even soaps). - Bed not very comfy and doesn't appear to have been addressed despite past guests' commenting on this going back ages! Same story with mildew in bathroom. - Late check in and early checkout are not very 'fair'; feels like you're not wanted at all!

Location was great. Very clean and tidy. Kitchen was well appointed. The sitting room area was cosy.

The property has a perfect location, close enough to walk everywhere within Windermere. A few lovey bars and restaurants close by. It also has most of what you’d need for a short break, a cute little balcony and a lovely little kitchen. The bedroom furniture is nice.

The property is extremely small. The pictures give the illusion that it’s far bigger than it is. The people above sound like they are going to come through the ceiling. The bathroom is covered in mould along all the sealant on the bath and the floor and the hot water is intermittent. The taps are backwards, in the bathroom; when you run the water at the sink and forget to turn it the opposite way you get soaked. It could do with a good clean as it smells damp and mildewy. The bed needs a new mattress, it’s clearly old and knackered, very springy (not in a good way) we’ve come home with a bad back, the sheets smelt far from fresh, along with the towels, they smelt damp and mildewy. There was no complimentary tea, coffee, sugar etc. The check in time is ridiculous, 4pm onwards. We’d asked for an earlier check in travelling up from London and it was point blank refused. There is no parking for this apartment. The road leading to the apartment has building work going on for new builds which meant any chance of enjoying a lay-in was nil due to the noise. To be honest stay elsewhere unless there’s no other option.

Check in and out times. Especially the check out time! I personally think 9 am is too early! 10am would be more acceptable. Also this is not made clear when booking through booking.com until you’ve booked and paid.

Bathroom wasn’t particularly clean, bedding smelled - needs replacing. No amenities in terms of the basics (tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil of any type, 1 toilet roll, shower gels, even the hand wash had a small amount left watered down). it could be a nice place if properly managed.

ruined by the poor customer service from the lettings agency

location was excellent

on arrival we wasn’t given the code to gain entry to the flats, after numerous calls to all the contact numbers I had not one was answered, I emailed them and it took until 8.30am the next day to reply back to me! luckily a neighbour was in their flat and let us in. the Wi-Fi didn’t work for our full stay after again numerous emails to the property company. I’ve since emailed the company and they are ignoring my emails. the flat was lovely but if you ever have to deal with the letting agency please be aware!!

Lovely Location

A small cottage/apartment that is perfect for a couple. What it may lack in size it makes up with charm and is perfectly situated in the centre of Bowness.
