Great and interesting stay in Jazz House!!

The decor in the Jazz housewas fabulous,the room wad lovely,spacious, really warm and quiet!!!! The sitting room and music was appreciated by us both. The staff were so helpful. Shower room was immaculate. We would like to stay there again!!!

Tea and coffee facilities were great!!! Maybe some table mats to keep the lovely antique table from getting marked by hot cups....we used paper towels.

Review of Christmas visit

I enjoyed my stay in jazz house in run up to Christmas period.I like my room and how cosy comfortable the bed was. The shower bathroom was very easy to use and lovely warm water.

The only thing I didn't like was option of not hot breakfast on the second morning. The first morning, my breakfast was lovely first morning.

Arty and functional in a quiet location

The space was fun and functional and very arty - in a quiet location but still within walking distance to the great pubs and restaurants. Loved the kitchen and outdoor eating space. It felt like home with a bit of luxury. Very comfy bed and everything you need. Staff were great!

We are a bit old to stay in a loft room with 2 flights to get down to a shared toilet. (Lucky we were given robes). But - the bathroom was very luxurious and we had this to ourselves - as it turned out - and the bath was fantastic - the water was piping hot! We travel very light so getting luggage up the 5 flights wasn’t an issue - if you have heavy bags, make sure you get a room further down.

Disappointed we didn’t get the room as booked which spoiled the whole experience.

On arrival told we had been upgraded to a larger room in the Art House rather than the Jazz House. Nicely refurbished bathroom but dated furniture/bed and old curtains, certainly not the contemporary decor shown for a King suite as booked in the Jazz House. A member of staff told us a party of 16 American guests were staying at the hotel so maybe we were moved to accommodate these people. Constant road noise 6am until midnight despite windows closed. Had breakfast at the Lawrence one morning which was very good. Staff were helpful.

Lovely hotel; King Rooms have QUEEN beds

I LOVED the over the top quirky decor of our room and of the Jazz hotel’s public spaces. Check in was easy, and we had no trouble finding on-street parking right out front. We purchased b’fast the first day, it was hearty and delicious.

The room we booked was labeled a “Deluxe King Room”. I was disappointed to discover that the “King Room” had a QUEEN bed. In small print I found the description stating that the bed would be “60-70 inches wide” and it was in fact 62” wide. However, I think it should have been described as a “deluxe queen room” to avoid unmet expectations leading to disappointment.

Great place for relaxation and comfort

There was a problem with my initial booking so before arrival I was contacted about some changes. The communication was great and I received an upgrade! The room was amazing and the facilities were great. Staff was incredibly welcoming and helped me to find my way around.

For some reason the wifi in my room was not working, but it worked in the rest of the house so it as no problem to just relax in the common area a bit if I needed to be online.

Wow, the decor blew me away - just gorgeous. A beautiful, stylish house. The hosts also kindly left the essentials for breakfast. A lovely place to stay.

The shared bathroom was stylish and impeccably clean but if you chose a room without an ensuite then you might have to wait your turn to go to the toilet as it is in the bathroom. If you are a person of a certain age chose an ensuite as this might be a problem. Other than this caveat I have absolutely no complaints or things I didn't like.

It sure was The Cat’s Pyjamas!

Jazz House is one of best establishments we’ve ever stayed in. From the moment we checked in both Colin and Connor made us feel at home. We found the authentic jazz flair created a special ambience of an era of greats! We were very comfortable with our room and most appreciative of all the amenities that were at our disposal! Jazz House made our stay in Derry even more special than it was!

Not a criticism, but just be aware that it’s about a 15 minute walk to the city centre, and the hotel is on a steep hill! Breakfast available for an extra cost at their other property nearby; some basic breakfast cereals available onsite. Otherwise you’d probably want to walk into town for more food options.

Very cool and worth the stay! Great hosts!!

This was a very cool place to stay! The Jazz house had a very awesome vibe. There are quite a few stairs to get to the rooms but the host was very kind and helped carry the luggage. There was cereal provided and nespresso coffee for the morning in the shared kitchen. The location is a short walk to the main downtown but up a very steep hill when you have to walk home. Very nice stay.

The location is on top of the hill so your end of the night walk home is up a very steep hill. The place provided cereal for the guests but no milk. The room was quite warm and there is no fan or anything so hopefully you get a breeze. The neighbour was quite loud at night with people yelling and dogs barking but hopefully that was just because it was Friday night.

I really like this property and was looking forward to my stay.

I have stayed between the Jazz house and the Art house 3 times maybe 4. Unfortunately i became very ill during the week and i rang on Wednesday but Colin said he could not accommodate my request to move my booking out. Very disappointed overall.
