The bed was comfortable enough

The stench of the place would have knocked you out. Stale smoke smell throughout the property. Mould in the fridge, dirt and dust everywhere, smelly bedding and a general bad vibe about the house. The host was friendly enough but could put some effort into the cleanliness of the property if your charging people to stay there. Close the the city centre which was handy

John was nice enough. It was also within easy walking distance of the cith centre.

It was filthy. Also, there had been little thought given to the decor or lighting. — just mismatched second-hand furniture and gloomy yellow lightbulbs on blue walls. On the second morning of my stay mt first thought when I opened my eyes as I woke up was "Oh God. I'm still here." I spent three days trying hard not to notice the grunge, but on the bus now on the way back to Dublin Airport I am having flashbacks.

The area is super quiet, perfect for resting, and just steps away from the walled city, pubs and supermarkets.

Great location

Great location, very welcoming host, and well equipped room. I was pleased with how close the accommodation was to the city walls and various attractions. Room was secure and felt cozy enough. Shared bathroom was clean.

I wasn't too sure about on-street parking due to near-by roadworks and having to park a bit from the property due to lack of space in front of it. I ended up with small scratches on the car but luckily these were not picked up on by rental company.

My room was clean and what I expected. The host was nice and explained how to get around Derry and what things I should go see. There was food in the morning you could grab if you wanted (bread and pastries).

He gave me the wrong room key so when I went to get back into my room (it was open when I arrived), I couldn’t get in. Thankfully the other person was there and she happened to have my key. Also the bathroom (shower specifically) could’ve been cleaner. One of my pillows didn’t have a pillowcase.

A bit stinky

It was a short walk to the town centre

It was incredibly dirty. The bedroom was covered in hair, I found what looked like a pube on on my pillow. The bathroom had mould and to turn on the shower you had to walk out of the shower to another part of the bathroom. When the toilet flushed it splashed your legs with toilet water. The whole house had a lingering smell.

Short jaunt to Derry

Place was spotless. Host was very helpful and informative. It was close to bus station and there was a free shuttle to railway station. It was ideal if you wanted to get to Giants Causeway and Bushmills if you didn't want to drive

Old fashioned B&B in great location

Location is excellent for town centre. Friendly welcome from John.

A very basic old-fashioned B&B. One toilet and shower shared by all guests. The whole building smells strongly of cigarette smoke. Towels particularly. This is probably ok if you are a smoker (as most of the guests were). But for those who don't smoke, it's not so great. Breakfast foods provided.

Best place in Derry

It was so nice to be back again at John’s lovely house. We had a great couple of days. The house is perfectly located with the centre about 10 minutes on foot and 7 minutes to the free Derry and Bloody Sunday museum. John is the perfect host and is always willing to help.

If you value cleanliness a lot you might not like it as much as we did. But for such a low price, the level of cleanliness was adequate.

Bad unless you are a smoker

Location was good, close to the centre

The whole property smelled very bad of smoke. The bed linens were clean but the whole bed and room smelled as well - I had to wash my pyjamas afterwards as the smelled of smoke as well. Mattress was uncomfortable and filthy. Poor soundproofing - I could hear the host talking on the phone in the middle of the night. Overall very bad experience and definitely not worth the money we paid. Would not recommend.

Great location John was friendly and knowledgeable. You can walk from the house into Derry,. I did a walking tour of Derry. I enjoyed coming back to the house , going to the kitchen having a cuppa, then back out again for a bit of shopping.

The owner John is a nice guy and the accomodation is well located.

Terrible smell inside the house. My clothes still smell smoke or i don't know what. I've been to many countries and it's one of the worst accomodation i've seen so far. There was a lot of noise in the middle of the night.

Great location, very friendly and helpful host. The stay was great and I had a wonderful time. The room was a good size and comfortable. Good hot water in the shower.

Could smell cigarette smoke in the hallway but it wasn't in room so that was ok.
