When looking for a place to stay the most important things are: affordability, cleanliness, privacy. Mountjoy house is great for all these things and John is great craic, friendly and helpful. Mind you, I've never met a Derry person I didn't like. Great place, people and city altogether.

Can't beat for location and price. City centre is a short walk. Host John is was a gentleman and the house has everything you'd need and all amenities are a minutes walk plus there is a nice local pub.
Can't fault my room for the price and location.

My room was clean and what I expected. The host was nice and explained how to get around Derry and what things I should go see. There was food in the morning you could grab if you wanted (bread and pastries).
He gave me the wrong room key so when I went to get back into my room (it was open when I arrived), I couldn’t get in. Thankfully the other person was there and she happened to have my key. Also the bathroom (shower specifically) could’ve been cleaner. One of my pillows didn’t have a pillowcase.
