The Shavings

A lovely, well appointed small holiday cottage in a converted dairy set within a traditional Derbyshire farmstead. Beautiful, interesting countryside and the delightful spa town of Buxton close by. Lucy and Andrew were very friendly hosts and extremely helpful.

Shavings was just a little small but had been very well converted and decorated.

Clean and comfortable. Nice touches by the hosts of providing milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on our arrival

Beautiful setting, easy to access National Park and lots of walks. Friendly hosts and comfortable house with all you really need.

Very minor really and didn't take away from a great stay but there were some sort of seeds on the outdoor mat that we kept walking in without intending to so it looked messy the minute we walked in and I was then worried about them going everywhere and spent quite a while using the dustpan and brush to scoop them up every time we came in. The fridge was also set really cold so everything I brought froze.

Due to the adverse weather we were unable able to make weekend. The property were extremely helpful and kind ....but sykes Cottages are to be avoided as s booking agent
