Delightful cosy cottage in the centre of the village with a handy local shop

Property in the centre of the village, close to a well stocked co-op. Was quiet not much traffic. Butchers was good. There was a Christmas tree put up in the property which was a nice touch. Property was warm and cosy.

The freezer drawers didn't want to open.

Excellent property in an ideal location

Excellent property in a great location for exploring western Northumberland. It is an ideal cottage for a couple, very clean, well equipped and quiet. Allendale Town is lovely and has everything needed on the doorstep. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall, it was mostly very good (e.g. beds, bedding and towels). It was a clean, welcoming, cosy cottage in a good location.

The boiler was noisy at night and that the cutlery and cooking pans have seen better days!

The cottage is centrally located - ideal for our purposes.

The bathroom was cold as we found it difficult to work out how to manage the heated towel rail - no instructions. I found the stairs hard - very high rise and the rail at the top was too close to the wall so hard to use.

I wouldn't hesitate to come back - it was an ideal place to stay!

Everything was easy to use / find, communication was great. Welcome basket was a nice touch. Beautiful property, no problems at all! Shower was great. Cottage was just as seen in the photographs online.

Wonderful

The cottage was modern but still cosy and so comfortable. It had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The location was fantastic. Every shop etc you needed in the village. Easy access to the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, Carlisle area, Newcastle. The village itself had some lovely walks and a great Indian Restaurant.

Nice stay, exactly what we wanted.

A really lovely cottage in a quiet location and very well appointed, although we couldn’t find the egg cups !

Better quality beds and frames as the current offering lets the place down and the main room an extra large double would have been nice. The bathroom needs a blind as I didn’t feel happy showering in the evening with the light on… no privacy!! There are a few maintenance issues that need addressing as not everything works and the bathroom vent flaps in the wind making a loud noise all night. It’s a nice idea having the mini ironing board just not if you’re 5’2”, as I had to iron my stuff at chest height on the island. Having said all this I would stay again.

Lovely cottage in a great location. We would stay at Issac's Cottage again.

The cottage was very clean and well decorated. Cooking and washing facilities were excellent.

Personally we would have preferred a small dining table and chairs in addition to the breakfast bar. The breakfast bar itself was very useful during food preparation. We found the double bed in the main bedroom uncomfortable. A blind in the bathroom would also have been appreciated.

Spacious. Well equipped. Pleasant decor. Excellent location for our plans.

Bed in front bedroom. Musty smell in kitchen. Steep stairs. Couldn't get hot water until we worked out that something needed turning on.

Home from Home.

My friend and I booked this at short notice for our celebratory 60th birthdays. it was absolutely perfect. the cottage was nice and warm. when we arrived. spotlessly clean. A fabulous home from home. My friend said she would not mind living in it full stop ! it was homely and charming. did not feel like a holiday cottage. it felt like being in your own home. The only slight critique the pillows were not comfy. we’re a little flat. But I’m particular about my pillows. I usually take my own but forgot to pack it. I would highly recommend anyone sitting on the fence. Book you won’t be dissatisfied. I will definitely book this cottage again. Its in the heart of the countryside. The weather was not good so it was a pleasure to stay indoors. But you’re not far from Hadrians wall. Langley Castle and walks.

Apart from my pillows. nothing not to like. it was lovely.
