Beautiful apartment, gorgeous comfy bed, all amenities near by and had everything you need for a nice stay. Very cosy.

Lovely quaint little cottage in a lovely location. Very well thought out for the space.
The mattress was way too soft and lacked any support. Needed crampons to roll out at night due to roll together. Had 2 bad nights sleep hence the lower score.

Spacious, comfortable, excellently located.

The location is excellent. There is a coop across the street. Places to eat out, close by. Kitchenette is well equipped. Comfortable mattress. Good communication for access of property. It felt like home away from home. Would definitely book it again.
Parking was sometimes difficult as it was on the high street.
Not to complain, but it was a bit hard to see the key hole by the entrance in the dark, a brighter light could help this.

Great location. Everything you need for a few nights stay. Great base to explore the area.
For me the bed was too soft. Heating needs re setting was blasting heat till midnight then was cold in the mornings. Either it’s set wrong or someone has messed with it.

Very central, warm and comfortable with easy access
The only thing we didn’t like was the late check in, we said we would be there by 2 and got to the property at 3 and it hadn’t been cleaned from the previous occupants. We were told that cleaners would be done around ‘3ish’, but didn’t get any more info and we were hanging around til 530 when we decided to check to see if it was done.

Nothing at all really
This property has the neighbours from hell. They are EXTREMELY noisy all through the night, and definitely high on something. They loitered in the yard directly outside no.6 and I had to keep the windows shut because of their smoking and vile language, and the blinds down as they could see in. I could not sleep in the bedroom due to the noise from them directly above, including very loud music, shouting and a dog barking, and ended up on the sofa bed in the lounge/kitchen every night. (the photos with the red bands shows the neighbours living room window directly above the bedroom of no.6. Their window was constantly open which also didn't help with the noise/smoke) I assume that any good reviews on here mean that these neighbours were away! As well as this the property's advertising photos are very misleading as the yard was full of weeds and rubbish with no outlook. Also there was black mould in the bathroom and bedroom. There is also a cafe next door and there was a constant smell of cooking from an extractor fan and a window that they kept open a lot of the time. (see photo with yellow arrows. The photo with orange arrow shows the cafe right next to the alleyway to the yard ) I recommend that you look at all the other bad reviews as they are true!

Great location for walking on The Pennine Way and for an overnight or few days stay as pathway just half a kilometre away and added bonus of the train to Slaggyford. Opposite co-op so if supplies needed - easy to obtain. Had a lovely meal at the Alston House Hotel - just around the corner - lovely food and friendly staff.

Location and flexibility
Power cut, lots of things needed were hard to find like, toaster and cafetiere ( was there one)
Switched fuses to sockets were not easy to find .Instruction booklet needs to be redone
Recycling? Coat hooks for wet coats on back of door not over bath but a boot drop tray.Wardrobe in the bedroom would be better.
Would visit again but easily improved.

Wonderful town , lovely cottage in centre of town , friendly locals, fantastic journey through amazing countryside, steam train ride was fun.
Parking can be tricky due to shortage of spaces but overall didn't spoil stay.

Lovely quaint little cottage. Ideally situated in the heart of Alston.
Would have been useful to have had the a freezer available.
Parking is in the market square. We were fortunate to be able to park right outside.

The decor was very nice and located in the centre of the village. Well stocked kitchen.
Would be good if toiletries were supplied as well. The man who lives upstairs is noisy in the late evening.

The property has been done to the highest standard, the owners had thought of everything and gone above and beyond even leaving milk in the fridge

The apartment was very comfortable and had everywhere needed for the short break we had booked.Location excellent. The bed was very comfortable and the shower worked very well .The kitchen seemed well equipped and the milk in the fridge was very welcome and a nice touch when we arrived. The apartment was very clean and we really did enjoy our stay .
Other visitors had mentioned noise...we did have noise from above all 3 nights but no loud music as some said they experienced before .It's mainly from the flat above the bedroom area. However these are locals homes so it's expected they will make noise as they go about their daily lives..And with these buildings being so old and on top of each other noise is expected. It didn't affect our sleep in any way and wouldn't put us off staying again.
We did have to change the batteries in the TV remote as it wasn't working and replaced a bulb in the bedside table light as it had stopped working .
The extractor fan in the bathroom was quite loud.We met the resident who lives above and works shifts who was a lovely man.We were worried the extractor would be heard by him but he assured us he didn't hear it..so we didn't feel anxious about using it thru the night when we had to visit the bathroom.

A lovely cottage style, quirky and well equipped property. Clair who cleaned the property, gave us some great tips on what to see and how to keep safe in the roads. We visited during a very cold snap and the roads can be tricky. It’s situated in a lovely town where if we’d stayed longer, we would definitely have felt a part of the community. Lovely, lovely people.
The upstairs neighbour was quite noisy walking around most of the night.

Excellent accommodation, so peaceful 😄.
The outside area needs a little TLC but other than that it was excellent , really enjoyed our stay.
5.0 / 10.0
Location and cleanliness.
It stated toiletries, there was none and when booked it stated safe fenced garden, (reason we booked it because dog won’t poo on lead) the gate is missing! Not a relaxing garden to sit in, pictures make it look better than it does in real life.

Very central location in Alston
Couldn't figure out how to turn the heating off

All self contained - kitchen/wifi/ folding bed proved a life saver and vert comfortable
As mentioned before the neighbours are loud and can keep you awake at night - they had a party between midnight and 2am and next night came home at 2am and were noisy until 4am
I found sleeping on the folding bed in the lounge worked a treat for me
