Basic accommodation in beautiful location. Hottub a bonus.
Location was amazing. Half a mile from the Northumberland border. Beautiful countryside for miles around. Five minute drive to nearest town (Alston). Hot tub was great. You need to book a slot as it is shared with other cottages. Lovely treat although the water was not very warm on one occasion. Milk was supplied. Thank you.
This is a reasonably priced accommodation in a beautiful setting. You get what you pay for. In a more expensive place you may find:- Enough tea and coffee for duration of stay (very little supplied) Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel (none supplied) Enough toilet roll for duration of stay (very little supplied) Kitchen roll Hairdryer (pretty standard even in economy accommodation and would have been expected as there was a hottub). Flat was very cold. Bathroom was downstairs and stairs are quite steep. Information in flat could do with updating. Looks very tatty and is very Covid focussed.

FREEZING
The heating only came on at 1pm until 8pm. The place was freezing in the morning!! We had to wear coats in the house. There was nowhere to turn the heating on and when I rang asking about the heating I was told the controls were in a different cottage and that there was a log fire but the logs were sodden outside and there were no fire lighters or paper to light the fire.

Perfect break to unwind and explore
Beautiful place and great accommodation throughout. The hot tub was a bonus and the owners are very kind and helpful. We had problems with our car and they were very keen to help us, going the extra mile at all times. Welcome pack with milk, biscuits, tea & coffee, etc. The highest waterfall is not far and the Lakes are close by as well. We thoroughly enjoyed it, wish we could have stayed longer! ❤️

A great place for walks
A lovely setting for walks, and visiting the lakes and Hadrians Wall. The hot tub on an evening was a firm favourite with our daughter. On arrival they had left a pint of milk, biscuits, tea and coffee which was greatly appreciated. You can walk to Alston easily along the Penine way, and the two pubs are very friendly and do great food. We had a morning on the South Tyneside Railway which our daughter loved.
The only downside is due to the location everything is atleast a 40 minute drive, however the drive is through lovely countryside.

quiet a short stay to recharge batteries and just what ourselves and dog needed.
Alston town centre is within walking distance although the range of shops etc is limited. Plenty places to visit if you're happy to drive and some nice local walks.

Devine peace ! All we could hear were sheep and lapwings !
The hayloft and area was fantastic. Stunning glorious views Very scenic, good locals
The sign posts for a couple of the nearby walks could be better Maybe a map with the welcome pack that’s all !
