An eco-friendly 18th-century stone cottage in a secluded wooded valley with paths adjoining the Pennine Way.. Ground Floor:

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bedroom 2: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds. Electric storage heaters, electricity, bed linen and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for multi-fuel burner included. Towel hire. Cot and highchair. Enclosed garden with garden furniture and barbecue. Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. This 18th-century stone cottage is hidden away up a steep gravel track overlooking the wooded Tyne Valley and the North Pennine Fells. It is a secluded location adjacent to the owner’s house, and benefits from solar powered hot water. There is footpath access to the Pennine Way and local tracks with a variety of local attractions including the South Tynedale Steam Railway, lead mining heritage centres, a transport museum, hand made candle factory, and the historic charm of Alston one mile away, with its steep cobbled streets and good pubs. The area is ideal for walking and mountain biking. Both Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District are within half an hour’s drive. Shops and pubs 1 mile.

An excellent cottage, out of the way with amazing scenery. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. This is a great base for exploring both Northumberland and the Lake District. Easy walks from the cottage or just sit on the garden and enjoy the views. Very accurate description and photos. Would visit again without reservation.

Really enjoyable stay.. Spoke to the homeowner very helpful and knowledgeable of walks in the surrounding areas.
Cottage really cosy and abundance of wildlife within the area.. Already booked for next year.

We had a fantastic week, the owners were so helpful with brilliant local knowledge. The dogs loved having so many great walks close to the property.
The log burner was fantastic to have and we needed it due to a cold end to August.
We will definitely go again.
