Fantastic property, brilliant location, wonderful and friendly hosts.

Location perfect, I live in the area but needed somewhere local to stay whilst work was being done on my house. The area is absolutely beautiful (I moved here!), there are so many walks and activities and the people are super friendly. Sue and Neil are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble! Have a look at the adjoining nursery too!

Cosy cottage with lovely views

Perfect position for exploring the local area. Lovely quiet location. The weather wasn’t particularly good but it was very warm and cosy. Dog friendly with no extra or hidden charges. Very good value for money.

Absolutely lovely ! We will be back !

Lovely location. Quiet and with lots of wildlife. We saw woodpeckers, pheasants, owls and lots of smaller birds such as Bullfinch ,chaffinch etc. The hosts were lovely people and made sure we had everything we needed.

A long mirror at the top of the stairs would have helped small people like my wife, who are not tall enough to see in others provided !

Lovely cottage.

The cottage was exactly what a cottage should be like. There is nothing like old stone walls, wooden floors. The kitchen was well equipped.

The owners could have checked up on us after our arrival to see if we needed anything and to answer our questions. We didn't see them at all. The heating was only on for a short time every day and there was a request to leave money if we wanted to run the heat more often. That was not what we expected.

Lovely rustic cottage

Stunning historic cottage in lovely quiet setting. Cottage had everything you needed and more. Fab dog walk area.

Lovely host and beautiful cottage with lots of character

The location was perfect. Lots of birds singing in the morning and you can see a hedgehog or two in the evening. There were a couple of footpaths around the property that lead to the nearest town Alston. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. I traveled with pets and the hosts were very understanding. The cottage looked exactly like on the photos. We had a great time staying at Ghyll Burn cottage.

There were spiders which my sisters didn't like at all. But this cottage is surrounded by trees and footpaths and Hartside nursery. So there are lots of opportunities for spiders to crawl inside. Especially when we had the doors open for our dogs to go outside.
