Nothing really. The toaster wasn’t working when we first arrived, but the staff quickly bought us a replacement.

Relaxation & Adventure, Just What We Needed! Highly Recommend.

We loved the location and the park the lodge is situated on, we had a lodge with a bit of grass out the front which was great for my dog. There were also sheep there most days which was lovely to see! The spacing of the lodges is really good too, you are around other people but we never saw or heard anyone else, even though other people were staying there. The facilities were really easy to use and there was just the right amount of space for the two of us and our little dog, the hot tub was easy to use as well and it was quite private. The beds were very comfortable too and the TV had smart functions, when I connected it to my hotspot, I was able to use Netflix and all 4 etc. The surrounding area of Rhayader has some amazing views, we visited a few different nature reserves, dams and reservoirs during our visit. We made some wonderful memories, I hope to return again next year and maybe even bring more of my family with me. It was just what we needed, relaxation away from the hustle and bustle but also adventure and lots of nature! I'm not sure if it's allowed but providing animal food for the sheep to guests could be a really nice extra? As an animal lover, I would have really enjoyed that! Overall, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable, relaxing holiday in the UK - especially if you enjoy walking in nature or if you have a dog to think about.

There wasn't much we would change about the lodge to be honest, only a few small points. The bathroom floor was very creaky which made it a bit disruptive to my partner if I needed to get up to use the toilet in the night. The hot tub seemed quite dirty with lots of small debris inside, it made me a bit hesitant to sit in it - I'm not sure if this is because previous visitors hadn't adhered to the rules of showering beforehand maybe? It wasn't very pleasant, I would have liked to use it more. The sofa's we had were a leather style material and quite small, we are small people anyway so we thought it would be fine but it wasn't very comfortable when you're trying to relax in the evening after a day of walking. They look very nice but I think some of the furniture could do with updating slightly. These factors didn't really affect our stay much but maybe just to keep in mind when considering future changes.

Location is excellent. Host very friendly. Lodge was well equipped, comfortable and warm with every thing you need for a family break. Hot tub was fab.

Floor in the bathroom was a little uneven but wasn't too bad with the shower mat down Later check out option than 9:30 would be great but understand there are lots of lodges and lots to do.

Snowy Owl Lodge

The property is set amidst beautiful scenery. The area is very quiet, but the nearest town is only a few minutes drive away. The lodge itself is nicely decorated and was very well heated, which was appreciated for our November stay. The hot tub is a bit small for 4 people, but didn’t stop our use of it. One of our party has mobility issues but had minimal difficulty in getting in and out of the hot tub.

As the lodge is designed for 4 people to stay in , there was only 4 sets of cutlery. It would have been nice to have had extra. Whilst we appreciated that the lodges are set in the countryside, it was very dark at night which made it tricky to walk from the lodge to, for example, the reception area, where our taxi was picking us up from one evening. The park roads themselves are basic, with potholes and uneven surfaces, which were alright in daylight but unsafe in the dark.
