Excellent location. Stylish well appointed accommodation.
Sykes Cottages (agents) were next to useless! It was impossible to contact them directly with any questions. A formal compliant made to them has yet to be responded to. We will try to avoid any accommodation using Sykes Cottages as their agents in future!
The accommodation is generally great but needs a deep clean and a bit of a cosmetic make over in places. Settee was not very comfortable.

Location is fabulous, near to Aviemore & Kingussie but nicely tucked away amongst the trees and forest trails
Big comfy beds and spacious bedrooms- bathrooms good and lots of hot water
Kitchen well equipped for cooking, nice dining area and outside space was great
There are no lights around the outside of these houses apart from at the door if turned on from the inside. We arrived in the dark and had to use our car headlights and phone torches to find the way to our house - same problem throughout stay if returning at night - very inconvenient and not very safe
No basics provided at all, no water, salt, bread, milk, cooking oil, and barely enough toilet paper for 2 people to go once - given that shops aren’t immediately available this is very poor
The listing says sleeps up to 8 but there is only comfortable seating for 5
Heating was very unpredictable, we never figured it out, washing machine was also a challenge!
I also sent a few messages directly to the host before arrival and got no replies which isn’t good
We paid at the lowest end of the range for this property which I think was correct, I certainly wouldn’t pay £2K to £3K to stay here as it’s quite basic really

The location was fantastic and ideal for the holiday we had planned. With only a short drive to Aviemore, you were never left wanting for anything. Property is spectacular and the only reason I didn't give full marks was a slightly noisy fridge and the need to get an electrician out to fix a light switch that was shorting. But I will be going back .....
