Rotting wooden door and unit.nothing at all inside! No kettle, heater (essential here!) dirty plastic mattresses about 1" deep. We didn't stay!!!

Great location and good value

The pods have power and are nestled right next to the river. There is a full kitchen with plenty of seating. Individual shower stalls and toilets in a shared space.

Things are a bit rundown. No signage anywhere! Also signs to alert traffic that there are pedestrians crossing would be great.

Don't stay here, ever.

Nothing, it was terrible.

We had the misfortune of staying in micro lodge no 6 which is the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. We were delayed arriving due to an accident on the road to Inverness. Had we arrived earlier, I would have pitched a tent instead of staying in the pod they gave us. I was travelling with my young daughters and none of us got any sleep as there was a severe mould issue. The smell was unbearable. The pod had not been cleaned. Everything smelled of mould including the bunk bed mattresses. The curtains and blinds were filthy. There was a cup of tea left on top of the corner storage from the last occupants. We had to leave the doors open all night, as the smell of mould was that bad. Never, ever will we stay here again. The owners should be ashamed and the pod condemned. How can they possibly offer this as accommodation in its current state? I’d like to request a full refund.

Once found, stay was good.

Showers were impressive, very good pressure. Idyllic location, campfire outside and bench.

Near impossible to find the pods, no directions or clear instructions in the dark. Staff unreachable out of hours, several people with same issue. Kitchen only open till 9pm. No lock on door. No bins anywhere.

The location was pleasant, featuring a river next to the pod.

To access the kitchen, we need to cross the road. The kitchen is open only from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM and from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM. There is only one fridge, and it does not have a freezer. The mattresses are hard. It would be helpful if they could provide a kettle and a microwave in the pod.

Worst experience ever

The location was nice.

Hidden polices by the management, such as cant use the kitchen at specific times, no reception or phone call service for the pods after 9pm till 8 am. No bedsheets or any bedding. The size of bed is like a bench i believe because i asked multiple times and no one confirmed.

I hated all of it from the customer service ( there was none). To the appalling cleanliness.

Did not get a pod which I ordered. Ended up in the hostel which was dirty and grubby. I want a refund. I couldn't get a refund that night as the owner was unavailable or I would have stayed somewhere else for sure.

An experience!!!

The gentleman we spoke to on the phone was very apologetic and very helpful. He managed to get us in the hostel over the road which was 5 star compared to the pods. That hostel was clean, warm and the bedding was a luxury compared to the hostel pods The toilets were ok for a quick pee, and until we had accommodation sorted, which the host was very obliged to do for us.

On arriving at the hostel pods it looked more like something out of the movie the "Hills have eyes" and we had paid for a night at a murder house. Our group consisted of 3 adults, 4 kids and a dog. When we booked the accommodation it seemed ok for just one night. Cheap and cheerful!!! We were wrong!!! There was mould on the mattresses, no lighting. Gave us the wrong code combination and pod, my friends pod she was given was actually unhabitable (wasn't known until we rang the hosts). The light was hanging off the ceiling and when she pushed it in she had a waterfall in the room. No doubt with a lick of paint and many many many repairs these hostels pods would be grand, but personally I think they shouldn't be advertising these until their fixed up. The pictures that are on the site show a wonderful place, but in reality I was scared in case I caught something.

The owner should shut down the pod lodges and put guest health and safety first.

We appreciated the owner was happy for us to switch lodge even though the lodge wasn't much better. The toilets and kitchen where fine despite no soap or hand towels at toilets. But the electricity worked at least and mattresses had at least been wiped down with something which is sad to be grateful for.

Lack of heating in lodges I would imagine is what is contributing to the white mold spores on bed bases and strong mold damp smells in all lodges and No fire alarm in lodge. No hand soap or hand towels in toilets. Grounds are like a building site with a digger and skip vehicle working during stay. The river by the lodge is the only nice thing about the area. Old fire pits not removed and litter laying around just continued to add to lack of care or interest from owner. No sign for where to find someone in an emergency and the owner refused to speak over the phone and would only text. We knew it was going to be rough by other reviews but it was certainly worse than expected. Not even a lodge number so you knew which one was yours. But it was cheap and we only needed a roof over our head which was the only reason we booked for our last minute trip.

Worth the visit

Pod was near the small river, so u can hear the sound of it. Pod was big enough for 6 people. It has shared kitchen and shared bathroom. Only issue was, Pod doesn't have heater which I knew but forgot to pack blanket. This made the night lil tough. Bought Blanket from nearby Asda which helped survive the night. The kitchen has all the utensils which can be needed.

We stayed in pod 3 and were really unhappy with our stay. We had some form of animal living in the installation and could hear it running from the bottom of the pod up past the window and onto the ceiling and it was continuously scratching, this made it very difficult for us to get some sleep. There was a communal bathroom but no sign of kitchen facilities as listed. We messaged the owners with no response and did not see or meet any staff on the site.

this is disgusting and is really a health issue!!! No clean sheets, floor filthy, bed bugs and just awful. How booking.com has this as somewhere to stay is beyond me- I would never put a dog in there never mind a human.

The most disgusting hovel I could imagine

Not a lot !

Rubbish from previous users piled up the room was filthy. Nobody answering the phone when I called to complain. My children were scared to go to the toilets it’s was like a horror film set. Cigarette bits everywhere. Totally and utterly duped by the advert. There were rats in the grass area outside the door and used condoms. Please do not book here it should be closed down. If I could I would report it to trading standards . Terrible.

Bring your own cleaning equipment!

The shared kitchen, dinner, lounge area were lovely although need to take care crossing the road.

I know this is a budget location but it could really benefit from a good clean and basic maintenance. Our hut had not been swept with someone else's tissues down the side of the mattress. The blind from the door was broken and lying on 1 of the beds, although I did manage to put it back together again. No staff, none, you get the door code and hut number by email, and thankfully other guests told us where things were. Strangest experience I have ever had!

Everything cabin was in bits needs burning to the ground stuff was stolen from our cabin bins where full on arrival place wasn’t cleaned for the last ten years nothing like the pictures was truly awful I had to clean for 3 hours just to stay there! Don’t waste your money water was never hot lights don’t work the only think they did have was toilet roll they must of snuck in when we was out to replace them then the staff was back to hiding really dissatisfied And was mould all over the place on the beds sides walls bathroom and blinds

We stayed in pod 4 for 3 nights. The location is beautiful and in front of the pod there is a small river and fire place which we liked very much. The shared kitchen has all the things you would need.

The pod was very old and didnt look as neat as in the pictures. Not all the lights worked and one light made a annoying buzzing sound. It was very minimal. You only get the red matresses and nothing else. It was very cold at night. The trashcans were very full and the shared rooms were very dirty. We also never saw someone who worked there.

The worst place to stay in Scotland

Everything here. This place never our expectations atall. I was given a room which was not i booked. though booking details mentioned as , garden furnitures, there were nothingin the garden. Garden was full of grasses not cleaned for months. Wadh rooms and toilets were not cleaned regularly. mentioned shared kitchen is just a summer hut not useful at all. There was no mentioned shared TV and lodge area. Property owner was not keen to solve and answer customers issues. I NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYBODY.

The only thing was that our spot was down by the river.

The pod was rotten, panels of wood falling off on the outside, mould on the inside. Bed pads and floor dirty. Lights not working, some are battery operated so don't give off much light. Not surprised that no-one meets you in arrival because your very disappointed, it's so run down. This place just takes your money and have no interest in making it a lovely stay. Please don't go by the photos as they must be really old.

The man we spoke to on the phone was nice

We didn't stay because the 'pods' look like abandoned sheds, the common bathroom/toilets are not clean, we didn't see on the confirmation email that there was no bedding, which is our fault but still didn't expect to find what looks like a car park on the side of the road with various sheds called pods for glamping. Definitely not worth the money.
