Quality of furniture and finishes also excellent location
The front door was really hard to open. Probably because it’s wood and we have had lots of rain. We had to ask a passer by to help us open the front door.

Great location. Nice rooms and comfortable beds.
Cleanliness was substandard. Dead flies everywhere in the living room and kitchen. Was not pleasant. Must of picked up about 20 flies on window sill and floor. The cutlery and kitchen ware was dirty.
Very overpriced was not worth the money really.

The location was amazing, it was lovely and warm despite having old drafty windows (because of the listed status fo the property not because the owners don't care!) Plenty of space and the decor created a real feeling of luxury and being spoilt. It was quiet and we weren't bothered with any road noise.
The key lock box needs a bit of oil I think!

Location is amazing and it's a fascinating, historic building. Warm and comfortable with lashings of hot water. Comfy beds. Generous bath towels, plus dressing gowns and slippers a very nice touch. We appreciated being able to arrange to leave our bags there earlier as 4pm is quite a late check-in time.
Living room could benefit from better lighting to make it feel cosy and the paintwork in the property needs some attention here and there, but otherwise we were very happy with the place.

Spacious , clean, warm and comfortable in a great location. Thoughtful extras like coffee pods and milk. We were a group of friends who were having a meet up and there was plenty of room for 9 people with comfortable beds and living space. Location was great to explore the city and lots of places nearby to eat. We were allowed to check in a bit early so we could leave our bags and go out exploring which was very helpful

It was central and had a wide range of amenities
The cleaners arrived late but we were given the time back on check out

Spacious, clean, great location and very well equipped kitchen. The decor/furnishings are very well thought out and are a great mix of contemporary and a style that suits the old age of the building
The central heating didn't work initially but was fixed by the second night. Excellent online support people who got it fixed.

The house is amazing for 400 years old and upgraded to an exceptional luxurious standard with everything you need. So convenient being on Micklegate as only a short walk to all York's centre shops, attractions and history.
A lamp on each bedside table would have been nice.

The house was gorgeous and great location. They were very accommodating and we were able to check in 3 hours early. They even left us milk and a bottle of Prosecco, very thoughtful.
Nothing we didn’t like.

Location was fantastic. The building had a lot of charm given that its 400 yrs old.
The owners and staff were wonderful and accomodating.
Although there are 4 bathrooms only 3 have baths/showers. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms but share one bathroom.
The upstairs has very very low ceilings. If you are over 5' 8" you will hit your head.
None of this is really the fault of the owners. People were short 400 years ago....

Easy walk from station and city centre.
Mostly well equipped kitchen and large table.
Comfortable beds.
Spacious rooms.
Some noise from pub across the road especially on Friday and Saturday nights.
Some parts could do with refreshing eg flooring and window in bathroom on top floor. It would have worked better for our group if some of the double beds could be split into 2 singles.

Everything suited us. Character of the property was lovely. Modern interior went well with its quaintness.

Location was good. Kitchen space was nice and good to cater for a family of 10. Lock box key pick up was easy. Bath was lovely.
The house decor is tired. Lots of missing light bulbs. Window could not be shut in the upstairs bedroom which made the street noise much worse. House has damp all over the place. The 5th bedroom was a sofa bed which was located in a room in a very damp and musty basement. It was not suitable or healthy to sleep in. As a result we had people having to sleep on the floor of other bedrooms. This was very disappointing as we had booked for 10 of us to celebrate my mother's and mother in laws birthday. We paid £1116 for 2 nights and expected luxury accommodation. Not sleeping on a floor. We have contacted the owners and have had no response. Very disappointed.

I loved the history, the decor, it was absolutely beautiful and spacious, the beds were incredibly comfy, best matresses out of anywhere I've stayed. A mancave that had everything you need and 4 spacious toilets. The property was great value for money and only a 10 minute walk from anything you want to see.
By no fault of there own the roadworks opposite woke us up quite a bit they start work around 6am and all you can hear is talking and drilling, the windows are very thin but that's expected in a 400 year old property the rooms at the back of the property were silent. The heating is a bit janky and the WiFi isn't the best.

Nice location, very close to city centre. Well equipped. Generous sized rooms.
Some areas of the house could do with a little renovation. Appreciate the windows can't be updated due to the age of the property, but it does mean there is a lot of noise from the pub opposite.

Location in York was good
Description wasn’t exactly as we found it.
The cinema room wasn’t easily accessible with steep steps which although no-one has any mobility issues, wasn’t pleasant.
The WiFi didn’t work
The heating wasn’t on when we arrived and we didn’t have any instructions on how it worked and when we used boost it didn’t work enough to heat one of the bedrooms.
The access to two bedrooms in the eaves isn’t easy if you’re tall. Location of sockets and mirrors and bathrooms made it a much less enjoyable stay than it looked online.
Unable to get anyone to answer the phone number given but were able to communicate via email which was delayed due to no WiFi. When we left we outlined a number of things the owner could address to improve the stay

The property is stunning beyond words. It was perfect for our group of 8 adults celebrating a special birthday. The location was spot on. we arrived on train and it was a 5 min walk to the house. We were close to all the pubs. The property was so well equipped. Everything was done to the highest standard. We particularly loved the high spec kitchen equipment. It had everything we might need. The whole place just screamed luxury. I would definitely recommend a stay here and I would love to return.
There was NOTHING to dislike about this property.

The house was amazing, really clean and in a great location.
Sometimes the road outside was a little noisy but I think that's because it was a races weekend but it didnt bother us!
