My stay at the hotel was superb!

I liked a lot the suit, the location of the hotel, the cleanness of the place, the comfortable bed and the kindness of the staff.

I would prefer if they had a reception.

Super location right in center. Beware that it’s next to student bars, so expect something vibrant, not quiet. But was fine for me.

Well located hotel with very practical check in options

The Hotel is very well located in the Center of Utrecht. Don't forget to mention that the room has a view on a cafe's terrace so there is a lot of noise but thanks goodness the hotel provides earplugs :-)

One minor thing; the room was not heated at all when I arrive, it was too chilly.

Don't stay here if you want to have a good night's sleep!

Nice spacious room Close to the university and city centre

Located in the bar corner - it's extremely noisy! The worst location you can find for a good night's sleep. I was looking for a hotel close to the university for the conference participation. I have never been to Utrecht before. I had a conference starting at 8 AM and bars closed at 4 AM. I couldn't sleep at all. It felt like you're in the middle of a crowded square. There are ear plugs in the room but they don't help at all. No elevator, very steep stairs No fridge in the room - it's unfortunate considering there's no breakfast option No staff on site - in case of issues you have to call or send a message I had a problem with digital check-in since I was asked to pay extra even though I had already paid the full price No wardrobe in the room No door in the bathroom Practically, it's not a hotel. Feels more like a set of rooms in one building above a restaurant. Definitely wouldn't recommend staying here if you're planning a work/business trip and must wake up early.

Quintessential European room but BYO earplugs

Room 1 was big and spacious with great ambience. It felt like a quintessential European room and was clean and tidy.

The noise due to the nightclub next door that went till 4am every night (we stayed Monday to Wednesday). The narrow steep stairs were a bit of a challenge with our luggage but we managed.

Very central location and beautiful room

The location is perfect, very central. The room was nice and clean. The online check in worked perfectly.

There is no staff in the hotel. It wasn’t needed for the check in, but there was no one for questions. There were no coffee cups in our room, and no one replied in the chat on Sunday morning

Nice and comfortable stay in a historic building

The location is great and close to the city center, as well as surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops.

The check-in to the hotel and rooms is very special. You need roaming data service to access the website with door opening functions.

Great location, but major issues during the stay

The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The location is also very convenient, with excellent transport connections. It’s easy to walk to the city center, main attractions, and the Central Station.

Unfortunately, several problems made the experience disappointing. Access to the property is quite difficult, with narrow and uneven spiral staircases that are not suitable for carrying luggage. Even after notifying the hotel that I was travelling with elderly adults, I received no response. At night, the noise was unbearable. There are bars downstairs running 7 nights a week until 4:00 a.m., and the windows did not close properly, leaving the room cold. In addition, staff did not provide timely assistance, and the information on Booking did not reflect these difficulties.

Typical Dutch property with roof beams and enormous bed

We loved the position in Janskerkhof amongst lively bars & restaurants and just a short walk from main canal walk & shops. Easy access from Utrecht CS

A bit too minimal could do with a few hooks to hang towels up plus maybe bedside tables to make life easier. Digital system was Ok when internet worked ! Front door extremely heavy for me to open

Sleep deprivation is a cruel, inhuman torture. They even ask for money for it. Nightmare.

The room is cozy, the bed is big and comfortable. But it is worthless if the noise is so loud that it is impossible to sleep even with the windows closed. This is a small one-story hotel, where all the poorly soundproofed windows overlook the terrace of a student pub that is open until 4 am.

I only recommend the Brass Hotel to those who like drunks making noise right under their poorly soundproofed windows until 4 am. Because right under the windows there is a student pub that is open until dawn. It is impossible to sleep in this hotel. A hotel should not be run in such an environment. There is no reception in the hotel, only an automated menu is available on the phone number provided. No one helps.

Looks nice but way too noisy…. Every night!

The hotel rooms are absolutely beautiful and lots of attention to style in an historic building. Well done on the styling, however that is where it ends.

The location, while close to the city, is right on top of a number of thumping nightclub/bars which did not go quiet until 4am. Despite double glazing it is still loud throughout the building, even in rooms at the back. I had to purchase ear plugs ( despite this being a repeatedly mentioned problem and therefore they should be supplied) but I could still hear the bass noise through them. As we were right on top of the bar, and had a long haul flight the next day I asked for a room change but was told it was all full, despite many rooms being obviously vacant. Be careful in relation to payment. At check-out (online) we were asked to pay again, even though we had already paid through b.com platform. Also no concierge and we had trouble with access and were given incorrect information. I Think there are better options in Utrecht Tbh.

The room was perfect. Nice new forniture, clean and with a beautiful square view.

Great location, clean hotel without an elevator. Contactless reception/check in via What’s Ap.

Great location and room was nice and clean. Extra clean towels were delivered after our first day without asking.

This is a contactless hotel which I didn’t realize when I booked (maybe this was mentioned but I didn’t remember). The “reception” on What’s Ap was responsive, but WA is not my primary messaging ap so luckily a worker who is helping to renovate the restaurant explained how we could access the hotel and our electronic room keys. Had we not met him, I would have been stuck looking for check in info on Booking.com. I did not realize there was no elevator. The building is cool and old European with two wooden spiral staircases. These are challenging to navigate large suitcases and strollers. Not a deal breaker but sharing for others info.

Our room was very good, clean and fairly large..Owner was very helpful carrying one of our bags up the stairs. General location was pretty central and convenient.

The stairs were spiral and narrow, getting up/ down was dangerous and likely to cause problems. Location next door to a party venue making serious noise and impacting sleep was not easy to tolerate.

Overall a really nice stay; great location and clean building.

Very nice and cosy location, close to bars and the shopping mall and concert venue but still surrounded by some greenery. The walls are well enough isolated so we couldn’t really hear the people in the bars at night unless they shouted pretty loud. The room was very spacious and clean when we arrived, everything was arranged and ready to use along with a brochure with instructions and extra information. The interior design was very pretty and the hairdryer, kettle and coffee machine were a super nice and useful addition!

The empty mugs at our disposal for coffee and tea were either not well cleaned or still wet and left traces on the countertop because of the water still dripping down. Since we had the deluxe king room, the way the shower exit faced windows at almost every corner was not super practical. We found a way to make it work, so no big deal in the end, but I still feel it worth mentioning for people booking the room in the future.

Utrecht City Center

The Hotel is in the middle of Utrecht. 15 minutes walk from the central station. Everything worked out nice, although it all is managed via digital communication. The room was bright, spacious and very clean! Coffee maker, Wifi all complementary available.

Baggage drop off would be a nice extra. The room has a shared bathroom with an additional room that can be combined. It was not clear if I had to share the bathroom with other people. A different concept - info about the procedure would have been good to clearify. But overall a great experience!

Comfortable bed in pleasant Utrecht location.

Unfortunately we arrived at 8.45pm & only saw workmen renovating the restaurant, no hotel staff there to greet us but we did know this just before we travelled & that there would be no food available. Our room was on the second floor. The room was pleasant and clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was good. The coffee machine was very good ! The window overlooked a pretty square with bars around the perimeter & a restaurant on the square which wasn’t open that evening.

The bars around the square were extremely noisy late into the night, apparently Wednesday is student night. The toilet was facing quite close to the door, larger people may struggle being able to shut the toilet door. We were on the 2nd floor and my husband struggled with carrying luggage up the steep stairs, I do understand the building had lots of history & if I’d known, I would have requested a lower level room. The digital key system was absolutely fine once we received it, first time I’ve had to use them and it was worrying when the check in didn’t arrive 2,days beforehand as suggested, but if you don’t have What’s App, then it may be difficult to access the property. Finally, as I like the personal touch when staying in a hotel, as we didn’t meet any staff and no food or bar facilities at the moment, it felt a little bit like a hostel.

It was a great stay for us.

Great location, super comfy bed, very clean. Not far from the train station, bike rentals, and dozens of restaurants and shops. Beautiful area.

At night there was some noise from the place next door but if we had our blinds and curtains shut it wasn’t too bad. There were ear plugs.

A sweet spot in the centre of Utrecht

Ideally located, very near public transport. Beautiful room and very clean, really comfortable bed. Very helpful cleaning staff. The contactless check-in / check-out process was seamless and very convenient.

It was not an issue for me, but the traditional Dutch death steps can be a problem for the mobility challenged (there's no lift). Also, there is some street noise, but earplugs are supplied in the welcome package. But please supply better coat hangers!

Nice cozy stay

Super easy to check in, they make sure to give you all the details beforehand. They were nice enough to let me check in later since my train was delayed. I was positively surprised by the room. It was cozy, big, well decorated and it even had coffee/tea. The location is excellent, close to the main station and to the city center. I'd definitely go back!

Nothing to complain really. The main thing has been discussed already by other travelers which is the noise. I went on a Tuesday and there is a restaurant downstairs. Of course, you can hear a lot since it's an old building. But around 23h, everybody was already out and then I couldn't hear anything anymore. So I had no problems sleeping.

The rooms were spacious with a lot of light. The arrival box with information about the hotel, some peppermints and earplugs was a nice touch. Having coffee in the room was also great.

Central location, well kept property in a beautiful historic part of the city.

Excellent location, easy walk from the train station and in the heart of the old town area, so it was easy to walk everywhere we wanted. The rooms were very well kept, clean, and supplied; nicely decorated and lots of windows. Communication to check in and access the property and building was excellent and easy. It was quiet even with a few restaurants just outside, the air conditioning is a plus for comfort and quiet at night. Utrecht is a beautiful city and we enjoyed exploring it for a few days from here. The restaurant was not open the days we happened to be there but it looked very nice and the menus looked very good as well. We would definitely recommend this property.

No concerns but take note this is, as advertised, a boutique hotel, there typically was not staff present at the hotel but they were available via phone/text if needed. This was fine with us, but do not expect concierge services.

Superb

Very central, yet surprisingly quiet. Bed and bathroom were superb.

It was a pity that there was nowhere to store bikes overnight, nor that breakfast was unavailable, but we knew that when booking. Internet/Wifi unlocking of front door and room door was new to us but worked well.

Very nice room, nicely decorated and clean.

Impossible to sleep! Since it’s located at a square where students party all night long it’s impossible to sleep until they go home at 6 in the morning! Hotel provides earplugs: still not okay! Maybe in the winter it would be better, but definitely not with good weather/in the summertime! Regretted staying here… No breakfast available at the property, even though they have a restaurant.
