I found the Eye Hotel a perfectly good place to stay in the town centre for a short visit.

Great central location, decent size room for a short stay, comfortable bed, hot shower, satisfying breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff.

The room I stayed in had a connecting door (locked) with the room next door, which was unexpected. Not a huge issue, but it did mean being woken up by the neighbours’ noises when they got back after a late night out. There’s no central heating, it’s a convection fan in the ceiling, but even if it was a bit chilly at night (it was November), the duvets are good.

the two staff in the evening were very helpful. note, be very specific with requests just as double bed, upstairs rooms, as exactly wanted then I am sure they will meet the requirements.

It was a perfect home away from home.

We dearly miss your wonderful cozy and quiet hotel: the friendly young reception staff, the perfectly furnished and creatively decorated rooms (with attention to detail, memorizing the Eye Hospital the hotel used to be) and the gorgeous breakfast with fresh fruit, eggs, salmon ... .

Size of rooms below standard, window looks at a hole way inside hotel.

Location and design is nice

Small room they offer is so small that between bed and wall is cca 50 cm. Window looks at a hole way so inside hotel and if you open it there is no privacy. Personal is cold and breakfast option is limited. They forgot to give us clean towels, and when we finally go it, cleaning lady opened our door without knocking and put clean towels ON THE FLOOR.

Great historical building - very fun!

No place to dry wet towels - we are willing to re-use but there is no place to hang them. The windows didn’t open

Good location, undersized room with no view.

Location was good, staff was friendly.

Room was definitely not as shown. I think we received a small room instead of a medium. It definitely did not have a view other than a small window over the sink. Disappointing.

Charming boutique hotel

The design of the hotel is charming (an old eye clinic) and the location is quiet. There is a lounge on the ground floor where tea and coffee are provided for guests free of charge.

The staff is efficient but lacks warmth. The breakfast (€18.50) is very basic and not the quality one would expect in a boutique hotel.

Disfunctional room where aesthetics take over function. Noisy at night (motorcycles) even if on a seemingly quiet street, it is next to a busier street. Confusing corridors with lots of steps.

Cozy historic building; when you walk out the door you'll see more locals than tourists.

Staff were super helpful when I had questions. Loved that they rent bikes directly: made it easy to jump on a bike for a couple of hours and experience Utrecht that way. Easy walk to restaurants, coffee shops (within minutes) and 12-15 minute walk to the train station.

The hotel, being brick and stone and old, made voices and doors echo. Wasn't a huge deal, but you will hear people in the hallways when they are coming and going.

Perfect place to explore Utrecht

We loved our family room. So bright and spacious and perfectly appointed. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble after our little boy was ill.

Great hotel in a great city

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location, we absolutely LOVED Utrecht and our stay at The Eye Hotel. No restaurant but loads of great places to eat a few minutes walk away. Kind, welcoming staff, a dreamy bed and magnificent windows to look out of as we woke up, it’s a brilliant base to explore this beautiful city. Quirky and old with awesome details

It’s an old building with wooden floors and zero sound proofing- we could hear noise outside and everything in the stairs and hallway by our room. It really wasn’t an issue for us but some may find it annoying.

Great place by the centre

Friendly staff, nice check in experience, airy and bright room that was clean with a good shower and facilities. Amazing location. Walkable to all the main sites.

Only downside was that the bed was too soft for me. For others that might be fine but I struggled to get comfortable without any firmness.

Tasteful quirky hotel in a lovely old part of Utrecht

Tasteful and comfortable big bedrooms, especially love those on the top floor, with very comfortable beds. The hotel is in a lovely old part of Utrecht with great cafes, restaurants and shops on your doorstep and the centre very close. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Love the history of the building and the quirky way it's honoured in the hotel's theme.

Would prefer a buffet breakfast.

The hotel is nice. We had a nice family room which is very appreciated as it is more rare to have family rooms in the hotels. The location is great. The people was nice and helpful. We appreciated our stay there even if we stayed only for 1 night.

Great stay!

The room was equipped very well: coffee + coffee machine, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion of good quality. Comfortable bed, nice bed linen, even ear plugs (and this is what one might need in the morning). The location is perfect.

I did not like the window view - it was blurred because it led to the inner corridor. Water communication in the lavatory tubes is very noisy :)

Pleasant stay in a standard comfort well-located hotel

"Medium" room is quite small with a view on maintenance installations...it was also quite cold in the room and I almost slipped on the slippery floor of the shower...The price for this room was only acceptable because it was outside the w-end but w-end rates are completely unaffordable and unjustified.

the location of the hotel was excellent. The hotel is conveniently located near the city center, which we found to be a significant plus. We also appreciated the complimentary coffee offered in the lobby, a nice touch that added to our overall experience

the hotel parking was not available as it was fully booked. Instead, we were directed to use a public car park, which was an 800-meter walk away and cost 30€ per day. We were informed that even if the hotel parking had been available, it was still a 10-minute walk away. This was somewhat inconvenient and an unexpected during our stay

Will definitely go back.

This was our first trip to Utrecht and we had the pleasure of staying at the EYE Hotel. The staff was exceptional! The room was larger than we expected and had everything we needed including a lovely walk-in shower and a very comfy bed. Breakfast was meat, cheese, eggs, bacon, yogurt, etc., very European and delicious. We could not have asked for a better location...shops, restaurants, the canals were all just a very short walk away on lovely streets. When we go back to Utrecht again, we won't have to search for a hotel...we've found the one we'll always go back to.

Adequate and functional, but not one to remember.

Excellent central location, although, if you have a car, the car park is not that close, nor is it free. Sharing a room in three made it affordable, but would not call it cheap or 'good value' (although that extends to accommodations in the area in general).

The shower had a very sahllow plate, so water would easily overflow and flood the bathroom and hallway if not very careful - or quick. The decor was fine, but rather cold, with everything painted white. The layout of the hotel awkward. Breakfast was ok, but coffees were motel-style from a self-serve machine; on one day we were aksed how we wanted our eggs, the next day we were not.

Eye can't fault it

A very warm welcome from reception staff put us in a good mood to enjoy our stay and the welcome card we found in our room was a nice touch. The room was spacious, quiet and bright with a very comfy bed with interesting/fun/quirky decor. The location was very convenient for the centre of Utrecht. Breakfast was very good, and there are a number of cafes nearby if you want to explore alternatives.

We loved everything in this place, and a comfy chair in the room would have been the 'icing on the cake' that would have made it a '10' rating.

Great location in the city centre. The staff was very nice and it was quiet.

The bed was a little to soft for me, but since that’s a very personal comfort thing I cannot deduct any points for that.
