Seehaus 96 Hallstatt

We loved the location of this property. Very close to the iconic Hallstatt viewpoint, right on the lake, near shops and cafes.

The space was a little small in terms of where to put luggage for two people, and it did get warm but they provided a fan which helped! It is also far from parking, but there is a local taxi service that can pick you up if you miss the shuttle.

Absolutely loved everything about this property! Best stay ever!

The only thing I didn’t like is that I had to leave!!

Amazing location with direct lake access from your room. Clean, modern and minimalist but comfortable. Definitely would recommend

The beds were very comfortable. The location was really fantastic, not only was it a few minutes walk from the main square in Hallstatt, but the little private garden that opens onto the lake had a picturesque view. Although the house above and the Boatshed nextdoor were also being used while we were there, it felt very private.

The room was unfortunately dirty, there were spiderwebs all over the apartment, and we had to remove several spiders which kept crawling over the bed. The taps in the bathroom are slightly broken and need to be twisted in an odd way to make them work. There is very limited hot water, only about 5 minutes, which wasn't enough for both my partner and I. Several of the lights didn't seem to turn on. The check in process, and by extension all of our communication with the owners was really awful. We ended up needing to wait several hours after it got dark because the property manager had forgotten to put the key in the lockbox. This wouldn't have been so bad, but they also didn't answer any of our calls or messages until booking.com got in touch with them. They later also ignored our subsequent messages entirely. I should also note that after booking.com got involved, they tried to blame the situation on us, saying that we had simply not seen the key, luckily we'd taken a photo of the empty box. Overall I would not recommend staying here, although there's not a whole lot of options in the area, for the price they're asking the value for money is horrendous.
