Highly recommended! Staff makes this place shine above others, even though facilities are top notch!

First of all, the staff throughout, both day and night managers, and bartender, were extremely friendly and warm. They were very pleasant to deal with and any questions / requests brought up were handled efficiently and positively. Location is extremely convenient with the HbF 100m away, and easy access to different platforms. Security concerns were never an issue. Beds are extemely clean and comfortable, and rooms have the double paned glass, ensuring a quiet nights sleep despite the HbF's close proximity. Breakfast choices was typical German fare but selection of breads, cold slices, and cheeses were excellent.

Can't really think of any negatives except possible parking costs charged by the nearby parking garage but that is not under the hotel's control.

DONOT BOOK - Worst Bait and Switch I’ve Experienced

Nothing at all

We had a very disappointing experience with this booking. We booked the Holiday Inn and paid 150 euros for the room we selected. Instead of staying there, we were moved to a completely different hotel without any consultation. The hotel we were placed in was clearly a much cheaper and far more basic option. The room was small, noisy, and located directly on a train line. It didn’t come close to the standard or value of what we paid for. It genuinely feels like we were charged for a higher quality hotel and then placed in a substandard, lower cost property with no explanation and no adjustment to the price. It left us feeling taken advantage of and very disappointed. I hope Booking.com reviews this properly because guests should receive the accommodation they pay for or a genuine equivalent, not a downgrade disguised as a solution.

Would be nice to provide the gusts harder pillow to choose and a fridge in the room

Location is very good, quiet, and comfy

There’s no fridge in the room, when one stays for at least 3 nights, your drinks and food has no where to go but gone bad.. and the pillow is too soft, I twist my neck because of that.

Decent hotel in convenient location

This is perhaps like lots of other Holiday Inns, but the furnishings are up-to-date and comfortable. The backside of the station is now (especially as it's being reconstructed) not the prettiest, but being extremely close to Mannheim Hbf the location is extremely convenient and it's only 10 or so minutes to the main building of the university. Breakfast was good, staff were helpful. I found the price-value ratio to be average; it's not inexpensive, but I can't say its overly priced either.

I did not always find the hot items at breakfast to be very hot.

Fantastic stay

It has been many years since we stayed in a Holiday Inn and will not hesitate to do so regularly from now on. We could not fault the service, the location, the comfort and the breakfast. Our room was exceptionally well designed, spacious and with high quality fixtures and fittings . It was totally soundproof despite its location next to the railway station. There are cafes and restaurants everywhere and plenty to do and see if you have time to walk around. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay and were able to leave our bags while we explored the next morning.

A fridge in the room would have made a difference.

Didn't get what I asked for.

Modern comfy room.

I requested a twin room and didn't get it, something went wrong in booking process on booking.com. The hotel didn't have any available and refused to provide an additional room FOC. Lesson learned - don't trust booking.com, confirm and/or book with hotel directly. No parking on site and car park next door is VERY expensive.

Holiday Inn, we will come back !!

Warm welcome, swift registration. Although they do not have an own parking garage, P5 packing garage is 20 meters from the hotel. And if lucky you can park before the hotel ( although this will be taxi stands in the future ) . The breakfast was great. Due to little reservations they made our eggs to our liking and fresh. There is enought choice of bread, meat, cheese, etc etc etc .

Location was easy...with car park next door. Room was large with fridge and coffee machine. Easy check in and breakfast. Plus lovely evening meal.

Third bed in the room would have been nice as we booked the room for 3 persons. We were asked if we wanted to pay for an extra bed which has always been standard in the past. This was disappointing.

Good value, bad reception

Quiet location behind the train station connected by a tunnel. The Japanese restaurant in the same building was fantastic.

No secure bike parking offered by the hotel. The receptionist was not welcoming, friendly nor informative. She was curt bordering on surly.

Great new hotel, close to the train station

Perfect location if you travel by train. New building, incredibly large room and great facilities. Also many choices for breakfast. Also it has an Asian restaurant near-by, in case you arrive later and do not wish to travel to the city center.

Close to a very busy road on one side, but not really a big issue, since the windows are very well insulated.

Reception girl could not find my booking initially. She had trouble. After asking for bf inclusion in price, the initial response was NO. I had to show the paper, which shows the booking is with breakfast. Lateron she agreed. This was surely not a good experience.

I booked the hotel last minute for my mother, due to her train being delayed and her not being able to arrive at home the same night. Booking.com showed an available room for exactly that night and I made the purchase and paid the stay in order for mother to be able to relax and go straight ahead to the room. However, she arrived to an overbooked hotel, being informed that the reservation I made was not possible. She was sent away, being told that the transaction will be canceled and re-funded to me. She had to head to another hotel the same night, at 12 am. Now, one week and one promising phone call later, I still get asked from booking.com to rate the experience, seeing that no cancelation and re-fund was made. I truly see this as a very poor service and organization. I cannot understand how such a known hotel chain cannot handle its vacancies on websites properly, and then not being able to proceed with a cancelation and re-fund. Therefore, I think it is more than fair to give this feedback and I am sure I will never book a night at this hotel again. Hopefully, I can get my money back.

Very good

Clean and spacious rooms, friendly staff. Excellent location; 2 min walk to Mannheim Hbf, easy access to the public transport, 14 min walk to the Wasserturm Mannheim. Nice decoration of the lobby and breakfast serving area. Many restaurants, fast foods and cafes in the neighborhood (walking distance).
