Wonderful weekend away

Enjoyable stay at Church hill house

The location was perfect, quiet, and just off the main road but walkable to everything. We had the family room accessed at the rear with its own door, we really liked this, and it was very spacious for us as a family of four, and the room was very clean. The tables outside the front of the property were lovely to sit in the morning with a cuppa to enjoy the views and for an evening drink with friends. Hosts were very kind and arranged for us to have a bigger table for breakfast to accommodate our friends joining us who were also staying, cooked breakfast was very nice and service was quick. I liked the fresh filtered coffee that you can help yourself with and the fresh orange juice. Shops and restaurants a short walk away and plenty of walks around, we wished we had stayed longer.

If I had to say anything, I would say the beds were slightly uncomfortable, and the floorboards in the room above were very squeaky when we were trying to get to sleep with the people upstairs walking around but it wouldn't stop us staying again. Also no fruit offered at breakfast which would have been a nice touch as my friend ended up buying some from the shop to have at breakfast

Arrived earlier than check-in time but Julie very welcoming and was able to go to room. Very helpful in explaining about local transport (or lack of!) and went the extra mile to help us reach our destination without a car

Perfect location and setting for staying in Betws y Coed

Lovely top floor triple room with an amazing view across the church and woods (see pic!). Super clean and well laid out. Good tea and coffee facilities in the room and comfy beds. Great access into the town.

Tight car park and only a few spaces. But on street spaces available once the day trippers leave.

The stay from start to finish was perfect and made our weekend away a memorable one!

Great location in the middle of the village and easy access to the Sherpa Bus to get to Snowdon. Fabulous cosy yet spacious room with a lovely view. Julie was really helpful in all our dealings. We did not arrive until late and Julie made the check in process really straightforward. The breakfast was lovely - continental on first morning as we left early for a hike and a hearty warm Welsh breakfast on our second morning. Check out was quick and simple. I have already recommended Church Hill House to friends and family.

Pleasant yet basic stay in the heart of Betws Y Coed

Excellent location in the middle of the village. Ideal walking distance to all bars, restaurants and shops. Staff at breakfast was very friendly and welcoming. Nice touching having top ups of tea, coffee and fresh towels to help yourself to.

The room was quite basic considering the price per night. We could hear other guests in their rooms, floorboards were creaky and the room in need of modernisation. The breakfast was average.

A DELIGHTFUL TWO-NIGHT STAY IN BETWS-Y-COED.

I've just spent a couple of days in the very picturesque town of Betwys Coed, staying at the homely Church Hill House Hotel and warmly welcomed by hosts Julie and Tony. The grounds and garden are beautifully maintained, and thankfully the weather was sunny for most of the time, to make sitting outside all the more enjoyable. The cooked breakfast was delicious with plenty of cereals to choose from. Betws-y-Coed is a beautiful village, with stunning scenery nearby, including the Swallow Falls and is well-served by trains and buses to other parts of Wales. A big 'thank you' to everyone!

Nice location but breakfast and facilities disappointing

Julie was a friendly host The room was very clean. The location was excellent, close to Betws y Coed Centre. Excellent shower with lots of hot water and good water pressure. Room 6 was quiet, as requested.

Room 6 was very small and on the second floor (no lift) of the building. There was nowhere to sit in the room other than on two wooden barstools! It would have been ok for one night, but for three nights for two people it was not good. The bright bathroom light came on automatically, so when someone opened the door during the night it woke the other person up. Breakfast was poor with no muesli, fresh or frozen fruit - and tinned tomatoes! On two days, I didn’t have bacon or sausage with my cooked Welsh (?) breakfast but was not offered any other extra item. There was a notice in the dining room saying that an extra egg would cost £1.50 so I guess that was the problem…. We had just come from a B&B in a similar location elsewhere where the buffet breakfast, size of a room etc were excellent and the cost was less.

CHURCHILL HIUSE HOTEL

Fantastic view from the window across the valley! Breakfast was lovely and hot! Lovely host and staff!

Every time the bathroom door was opened, the extractor fan immediately kicked in and ran for quite a few minutes only turning off some time after closing the bathroom door again which was tiresome overnight. Perhaps some fruit at breakfast too.

Lovely location

It was hot - not much you can do about that but rather stuffy - with the window open the dawn chorus at 5pm was incredibly loud! That was a very good thing or less good depending on your outlook.
